I have 400 series Andersen Windows too. I have replaced many with failed seals. I contacted the Company and they asked if I had ever power washed or acid washed my home. I built the house new and it was never washed with anything but a garden hose to get dust off of the trim.
I contacted the local lumber yard where my contractor purchased the windows. My contractor happened to be in a meeting with one of the lumber yard exec's. He took all of my failed window information and in 2 weeks a truck showed up at my house with 8 replacement sash's
I will never buy another Andersen window. I plan on building again in the near future, but Andersen will not be on the list of products I will be installing on my home.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT about the Andersen Window Company. I am a contractor and you have received their standard response to any problem with Andersen and their products: It is your fault, it is the fault of the supplier, it is the fault of the installer, and they did nothing wrong!
Your attempts to contact someone in authority recieved their standard response.....none! My experiences even have the corporate receptionist smarting off to me and slamming me on hold before I could respond, my subsequent calling her a witch was met with false claims by Andersen that I had used profanity against their receptionist!!! I know I need to be careful because the day for that receptionist to be out on her broom is fast approaching!!!! My advice is to buy anything foreign and that way "vote" against the anti-consumer sentiment being developed by so many American companies. Barring that, file suit against all parties involved, the installer, the supplier, and Andersen, and have them pay to install Jeld-Wen windows in your house. Jeld Wen stands behind their products.
