BEWAREof a Tennessee horse trader by the name of Angela Jones, aka Thunder Creek Farm. She preys on innocent, trusting, "beginner" type horse people to buy her horses. She buys these cheap horses at sales and resells, which I personally have no problem with as long as they are HONESTLY represented, and which I and several others have found to be not the case with Angela! She even has a "Testimonials" page on her web site, but you can be sure that she won't post the negative testimonials there!

Angela sold a horse to me that was advertised as being a beginner safe, husband safe, confidence building horse, and listed a whole pile of attributes/situations in which this mare was so good at, most of which were TOTALLY false! Not only does she LIE to make these sales, but in doing so, thoroughly ENDANGERS peoples lives, and their children's lives, but she seems to not have a care in the world in doing so. That alone speaks volumes of the kind of person she is!

I am not sure what the feed situation is like there, but the photos posted of the horse I bought from her were of a very, VERYwell fedhorse (likely taken right after she took the horse into her possession), but the horse I received was skin and bones, so much so in fact, that I even questioned it as being the same horse I bought, but being a pinto, the marking all matched!

Upon getting the horse home, not only was she thin, but she was also not as described at all, and would dance and prance, side-step, even reared up a bit off the ground. She was barn/herd sour and would not like to leave the yard even with other horses, let alone trying to go out alone!!

I told her she misrepresented the horse, and that I wanted a full refund, but of course, that was not to be. It was after that that I placed her name on my web site with the TRUTH about the capabilities of the mare, and she immediately tried to bully me into removing it, even threatening legal action. I informed her I already had seeked legal advice and I was well within the letters of the law to leave my web site as is and I was NOT going to remove it, and if she wanted to discuss it any further, she could contact my attorney. Of course, I never did hear back from her again, nor did my attorney.

So in my writing this, I hope it helps others out there to learn more about the people they are planning to buy from, or maybe already have bought from. I am more than happy to share all details of my experience with her if it helps anyone else out in their case against her!

There is a good site named horsetradertricks.com out there on the web that details these types of sellers and the types of people they prey upon. Angela's picture should be there as a definition of a horse trader! Now she has upped the anti, and must be trying to get out of being grouped into that classification, as I see now she has upped her prices from the $2000 range to the $6500, but please don't let that fool you...a crook is a crook is a CROOK!!!

SHAME ON YOU ANGELA JONES aka THUNDER CREEK FARM, LEBANON/NORENE, TN!!

Angela, you said, "I DID NOT rip anyone off.  It's strange how a horse can be so "missrepresented" but then advertised by the same person as "well broke" when they sell it."  This is not strange at all.  The difference between you and I, I am HONEST.  I told all people that inquired about her, that she did what she did.  I explained in detail everything we found to be true or untrue.  I did not lie to people.  I had it stated right in my ads that she was well trained (which I am not disputing), but that she is not a beginners, confidence building horse, and that she needed a rider with some experience and confidence!!

You claim all the horses are dewormed, vaccinated etc., yet when I asked you time and time again to send me the records to have on file, and you agreed to, they never came, this from before as well as after she was home here and after repeated requests.  So whether or not she had any of that, I have no idea.

I am not slandering you, I am sharing the FACTS of my sale with others to hopefully, help protect them.

I also understand that horses have their quirks but they should not be sold as SAFE beginner horses if they are not....this is where the problems lie.

You never did once offer to have me return her in exchange for another...this is SOOOOOOOOO UNTRUE!!!

I DID NOT rip anyone off.  It's strange how a horse can be so "missrepresented" but then advertised by the same person as "well broke" when they sell it.   Sometimes horses act differently in new environments with new people.  Different riders/handlers ect can affect a horse!   I can only tell perspective clients how the horse is while in our care.  We do NOT breed/raise/train horses here and anyone who is intrested in a horse from this farm is made aware of it.  It's stated on my website in plain english.  Every horse sold from this farm is vaccinated, wormed, has a negative coggins and is sold with a guarantee that provides an exchange.  We reccomend that EVERYONE come and personally view/ride the horse if they can.  We provide pictures, photos, vet references and client references for those who would like to speak to out of state happy customers.  No business or individual can ever make 100% of the people happy, but we try.  Unfortunately there are some people who will never be satisfied and find it necessary to slander and bad mouth the seller.    Unfortunately there are some folks who shouldn't buy a horse at all.  When something happens that they don't like or expect they automaticly assume the horse is "bad" or it was a "bad seller".  When the truth is actually that they either bought the wrong horse, don't need a horse at all, or just experienced something totally normal that a horse does and it was nothing other than "normal horse behavior".  Sadly, some people will go to great lengths to make business's or individuals suffer because they have to much time on thier hands.  If you have any questions about who we are or related to our horses, our integirty or our practices, please call us and we would be happy to speak to you.  I will not further comment on this article because it's nothing more than childish.

Of course Angela is not going to tell the truth, I really wouldn't expect anything less of her. I am not slandering her, I have all the proof I need to prove that what I have said is true.

It is true the horse came to canada, but the vet checks done for export papers are nothing more than paperwork to identify the horse, their markings, and to state they are appear to be free from communicable diseases (which she appeared to be) and to be healthy enough and in good enough physical condition to ship. So in other words, the horse was not on it's death bed. I did say she was VERY thin, I did not say she was at death's door! Again, I have the proof through photos that were taken immediately upon her arrival here.  So no vet would need to jeopardize their license, because they would not be lieing in any way by signing the papers that were signed.  And from the paperwork I go, only one vet did the work.  If there was another, then maybe that vet refused to sign them, and maybe that was why you took her to the vet that you said was not your regular vet to have the paperwork done through???

Yes, I did advertise (unsuccessfully) the mare for nearly twice what I paid for her, due to the additional expense of shipping the horse from TN to Canada, the taxes/border fees, the exchange on money, not to mention the huge feed bill, deworming, vaccinations etc. to try to get her back into proper condition.  AND...because "I" was totally HONEST in representing the horse when I was forced to sell her because she was so badly misrepresented to me, I took a HUGE loss on her, selling her for only $1000.  See Angela, this is what honest people do...take their losses and move on.  At least I can close my eyes at night and sleep peacefully knowing that no one will be hurt on a horse that I misrepresented to them as being a "beginner safe", "husband safe", "confidence building" horse that "anyone can safely ride"!  It's just really sad that people like you, prey on people like me!

And no, not once did I ever use ANY photo of Angela's daughter in any of my ads, and in fact, I don't even have any!!  All I used were photos of the mare in a "halter" type stance.

Yes, I am not doubting that you have some happy clients, but lets also be honest about all the UNHAPPY ones, like the one you personally told me about and the others that have since come to me with their stories about them being ripped off by you also.

Yes....two sides to every story INDEED!!!!

The other side of the story/The truth

This story is absolutely untrue. The horse in question was shipped from TN to Canada. The horse recieved not only 1 health check but a 2nd in order to recieve a permanent export to Canada. No vet would jeoparodize thier license by providing those health papers on an animal who was not healthy and "skin and bones" as claimed. I also question the fact that the buyer stated the horse reared, pranced and was barn/herd sour but the buyer relisted this horse on her website at a much higher price than she paid useing MY photos with MY child without my permission, which has now since been sold. I requested the buyer to remove my photos from her website and she refused to do so and at that point she became very annoyed and threatened that she would slander me. Now SIX MONTHS after the fact, even though this woman has gained profit on this horse it appears that I am being slandered for no apparent reason.

All in all: Why would anyone list a horse they claimed was so skinny and ill tempered for TWICE as much money using MY photos if she was that misrepresented? Now, this appears to me that YOU are the crook, shame on YOU....Remember dear, There are 2 sides to every story. I have many happy clients and anyone with common sense would know there are two sides to every story.

Thank You~
