Antivirus 2008 And Software-payments.com extra charges preloaded Internet
I ordered Antivirus 2008 and found myself for Antivirus 2008 at GBP 49.95 AlphaWipe Track Cleaner at GBP 29.95 and Premium Support at GBP24.95 this last not a one time payment.
I immediately tried to contact software-payment.com (the billing company) but their website is impenetrable and keeps returning the enquirer to the same initial page.
This company offers no phone number and states that such is available only for authorized customers with no explanation of who these are or how to become one.
I made two reports to Antivirus via there support process requesting the cancelling of the extra products and received no reply.
I today made a third report through this process and informed them that I was exercising my right to cancel the entire order.
I am awaiting a response but these two companies Antivirus 2008 and software-payments.com seem to be geared to evading response.

Extortion ware!

Software like this is called "Extortion ware". I personally had an extortion ware infection known as "Fotomoto" on one of my computers before. These Adware scam programs infect your computer, add fake virus and/or Adware infections (to scare you) then offer fake removal software for a price. The scammer software vendor then DEMANDS that you purchase the fake "infection removal" program to remove the alleged infections on your computer. The ripoff is that this is all of course fake, your computer is still infected, and you are out of money. These programs are very hard to remove. I had to wipe my hard drive to remove an infection like this. BTW: I did not fall for for that scam, but of course damage was caused in lost data from the recovery...
