I purchased a Boston Terrier puppy with this agency in March 2007. She was sick upon arrival. I had to seek ER care for her and she was hospitalized for the weekend. In addition to paying over 1500.00 for this dog, I paid 781.00 for the vet bill. Called anypets.com and my pet counselor told me it was impossible that she was sick because these animals are genetically tested(I have never received any medical or official genetic testing papers). She was unsympathic to my crisis and offered no solution or concern. Stated that that the dog being sick was simply not their fault once it boarded the aircraft. Further, the dog I received was not seal and white as advertised on the anypets.com website. She was in fact red and white. Seal and white is considered to be up to breed standard. However, red and white is not considered up to breed standard for Boston Terriers. There is a big difference between these. Red is considered to be a genetic dilution. The colors red and white only award you partial registration because Boston Terrier registries do not want this color perpetuated. I bought her to breed her and now I cannot because her puppies would not be registered legitimately. The papers I received are for registry with American Canine Association (ACA)---a company that is supposedly often patronized by Petland and other chincy pet stores (Any breeder can have a dog registered as any breed they want to just by filling out paperwork and paying a fee with certain registries--then they fool consumers into paying hundreds on the animal). I was told that she would be registered with CKC but only found when they mailed the paperwork behind her..

So, in total, I have a case of deceptive trade due to fraudulant advertisement and registration and a sick dog. Anypets facilitated the sale and received an over 500.00 commission on the dog. I have had a hard time getting through to an supervisor. On July 30, 2007, I finally did and she asked for pictures of the dog that is red via email. I sent four. She has not responded and continues to evade my calls by having the receptionist ask my full name and when I give it to her, she tells me that she is busy each time. I am now seeking the help of a civil atty for deceptive trade, vet bill.

In my opinion, they have collectively demonstrated that they just want your money and don't care about you or the animals they are selling. Worst and most costly mistake I have ever made. Proceed with caution. And if you have had similar experiences, go to the National Better Business Bureau site and file 1.) a bulletin about them 2.) a formal complaint against any company. It's your right to do so. It will also help prevent other customers from being victim to companies such as this who have unlawful and unethical business practices.

If all of you are truly "victims" as you all claim to be, then join all of us in making the company's officers accountable for their fraudulent business practices. It is essential that everyone file complaints with the following agencies: the Florida State Attorney General @ myfloridalegal.com/Contact.nsf/Contact?OpenForm&Section=Economic_Crimes the Federal Trade Commission @ ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/ojo/index.htm the Florida Department of Agriculture (Animal Industry) @ doacs.state.fl.us/consumer.html Also - James W. Schwinn (Sr.) opened 28 NEW companies 3 days BEFORE anypets.com closed. It is obvious that he and the other "officers" planned for anypets.com's closing LONG before the doors actually closed. You can find this info at sunbiz.org/ Finally his home addresses are: James Schwinn 5511 SW 7th Street Plantation, Florida 33317 and 12390 NW 2nd St Plantation, FL 33325 He also has an identical business on the web at dogsales.com

I have filed a report with Hollywood, FL police department as well. I received a case number but not sure of the benefit of doing this. I left a message with my local news; chanel 8. Hopefully they will pick my story. I also attempted to contact the owner of the company, whose name you gave me in your last. Seems his line is forever connected to the whistling squeals of a fax machine. No luck finding the other individual's name in info on search for people. Anypets of course, doesn't man their phones anymore yet website is still up with its echoing promise to be the best puppy mill facilitator in the world. Such altruism and goodness they represent--it could hardly be true. I wonder if all the proceeds were placed into an overseas account somewhere while Mr. S and Mr. D flew by night. May they be swiftly brought to justice. Thanks for your feedback and advice. We all need to unite on this- nationwide. Spread the word in every way possible.

Wendy, the owners of the company were James W. Schwinn, who is listed in the white pages of the Greater Ft. Lauderdale phone book; he lives in Plantation, and a Barry Dallek (not sure of the spelling of that last name) to whom, I was told by another employee, the company has now been put in receivership. A few of us former employees suspect that it was James Schwinn who ripped off the company's employees based on the fact that the company is in receivership to the silent financial partner, Mr. Dallek, as well as circumstantial evidence like the fact that neither Schwinn, normally a regular in the office, nor his daughter who also worked at Any Pets, Inc., had been seen in the office for some time; Schwinn hadn't been in the office for about a month prior to its closing this past Thursday. Personally, I have reported this to the Hollywood (FL) PD and received a case number, though the PD clearly tends to view this as a civil matter. I've contacted the local NBC affiliate, News6 in Miami, which last year ran an investigative report on a pet store called Wizard of Claws, which had broken a number of laws regarding commerce and animal welfare. I've filed a report at www.ic3.gov, a cybercrimes website which works in conjunction with the FBI. I intend to file a report with Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, who can be reached at www.myfloridalegal.com, click on contact Bill McCollum. Please do the same - file complaints - with all of these since giving this case a high profile may be a key to the success of all former employees and clients of Any Pets. I also plan to contact my local state representatives who acted quickly in passing legislation with regard to the Wizard of Claws case as soon as it was reported on the news. Good luck!

I reference to the former employees who have filed a report agaist Anypets.com; do you have any suggestions as to who my attorney should contact? I was in contact with Marlene Martinez. Is there a possible class action suit to result.. or do you think they will file a bankrupt? I have a deceptive trade case for fraudulent registration papers to go along with the false advertisement. They have evaded me since March 2007 regarding my complaint. Who is the owner of this company? Can you give me a name? Thanks. Wendy

#7UPDATE EX-employee responds

I am reporting that as of yesterday, October 18, Any Pets, anypets.com, closed shop. I, myself, had been fired from my sales job at the company at the beginning of the week. None of the sales crew, to my knowledge - I've been in touch with two former employees - had any foreknowledge that the company was about to go under. Apparently a major ripoff of the company's clients and former employees of Any Pets, Inc., has been perpetrated by at least one of its owners. This warrants immediate investigation by law enforcement, and I would urge anyone affected to contact the Attorney General of Florida as well as the FBI for instruction on how to proceed from a legal standpoint, since the company was engaged in interstate commerce. I have noted a recent upturn in the reports filed on this website from dissatisfied customers of Any Pets, Inc. It also should be noted that the company, in addition to shutting its doors as of yesterday, did not make its bi-weekly payroll which was due today, Oct. 19, and that I, at least, realized as of late this afternoon that my last paycheck from the company bounced as of today. This is a company, pardon the pun, on which the fiercest dogs of Justice need to be sicced ASAP!

ANY PETS, 'S ULTIMATE RIPOFFi

#8UPDATE EX-employee responds

Fri, October 19, 2007

I was fired earlier this week from my sales position at Any Pets, Inc., based in Hollywood, FL. Ripoff Report has provided me with useful information in the past which is why I'm writing now on this site, though my sense is that this won't reach the overwhelming majority of people to whom my "insider" perspective might at least be of interest. To get to the point quickly, I learned today that Any Pets, Inc., has closed. I learned this when I spoke briefly with another employee of the company - I had his cell # - who informed me not only that the company had gone out of business but that they weren't making payroll. Speaking only personally, I wasn't to be paid what I was owed for the two week work period which ended last Saturday, Oct. 13. And it gets worse! Upon calling my bank to see how much money I would have to work with until I found another job, I discovered that the last payroll from Any Pets, Inc. had bounced. The paycheck which I had deposited on the 6th - payday had been the 5th - had bounced. The effect on me is awful but might be more devastating for any of my former co-workers with kids, especially any single mothers, of whom I know at least one. Any Pets, Inc., one of the first names which pops up on Google if one enters something like "pet adoption", has apparently vanished into thin air. I have reason to suspect something quite underhanded at work here based on the history of a key person in the sales force as well as the company's owner. Meanwhile I wonder what will happen to the thousands of people and their pets who were purchased from the company with the promise of a lifetime health guarantee, other guarantees regarding the accidental death and/or loss of their dogs and the support system which I, as a salesperson, promised on behalf of the company to the relatively small number of people to whom I sold a puppy. I am presently disgusted by what's happened and more than willing to assist anybody interested in legally pursuing the principles of Any Pets, Inc. with information at least.
