I was employed by this company for 1 year from 2014 until early 2015. I was consistently paid late, paid less than recorded on my timesheet, and eventually not paid at all. When I was paid, it was often split up separately as 1099 pay and w2 pay because of fund shortages. One particular week, the office got new carpet and flooring but then could not afford to fully pay payroll.
The final project I built for this company was a game app. I agreed to build this project at an hourly rate. I was paid for half of the project to get started and then recorded the remaining time to invoice for other half once the project was published. The weekend the client gave the OK to publish, Dustin Rivest replied to my invoice that he did not owe me the rest of the hours worked. Fortunately, I recorded the audio of our agreement and submitted this to the Florida Department of Labor. Once Mr. Rivest realized he was recorded he claimed that he never said he would not pay the final invoice, despite this being saved in an email. This was over a month ago and I still have not received payment. I will update this post when this becomes a civil suit later this year.
The president, Dustin Rivest, is known to scam employees, customers, and partners. Any business done with this man needs to be captured in writing or in audio. If he does not think it was recorded, he will attempt to not pay.
