Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We purchased an Aquativa Prism with Biogard system. My husband's first question to the sale person before we purchased this system was what our out of pocket expenses to maintain this system would be. We were told less than $85.00 per year. We could fit this into our budget and decided to purchase the system. After the first year we called to have the filters and ultraviolet light replaced and was told the cost would be $175.00. When I told the representative the sales person I purchased the system from stated the out of pocket expense would be less than $85.00 yearly, I was told that this information was wrong and the young man I purchased the system from was no longer with the company and that they had similar complaints from additional customers of the same nature.

I stated I felt we should have been contacted and told the information we may have received was false and given the opportunity to know our out of pocket yearly expense since it was more than double what I was originally told. If we would have known this, we would not have purchased the system and we lived on a very tight budget and could not afford this yearly expense. I asked if we could replace only the filters and was told no and that if this was allowed it would make the warranty null and void. At this point I stated I would just want the filters anyway and was told you could not purchase the filters without the ultraviolet lights. This was a total misreprensentation of what we were told about this product. BEWARE--OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE MIGHT BE MUCH HIGHER THAN YOU ARE TOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

One year ago, Aquativa came to my door and wanted to schedule an appointment to test our water. The woman alluded to a potential hour water testing demo. When the man came later to do the water testing, he was here for ages and at the end of the demo, the real high-pressure sales pitch came on after calling in "his manager", who seemed to be stalking our residence. By the time they left, it was 11:30 at night. A 3 hour appointment during the a weekday, which was not welcome. The pressure was so strong from the supervisor, that my husband and I felt very uncomfortable and every question or slight weariness in tone was met with hostile answers. We are grateful that we did not sign on the dotted line that night and I looked up the company on the internet the next day, to discover all the complaints. The employee rebuttals state that the other Aquativa companies in other states are not them, and whether that is true or not, I am uncertain. However, I am speaking of the actual headquartered office in Bradley, the "real" Aquativa. The pizza and movie rebate offer which we were promised by the woman who set up the appointment was never given to us. Therefore, when yet another rep came to our door the following summer, I had much to say to him. When I told him we never got the rebate offer and that at least after putting us through the wringer for 3 hours, they could have at least done that, he was kind enough to give me one. Using that pizza and movie rebate offer and actually expecting to receive my money back was a mistake. I have been following up with that since JULY of 2008 numerous times and have been given what I believe a handful of lies by the promotional company that Aquativa uses for this. Now, the promo company refuses to respond to me. I had called the local Aquativa company in Bradley and spoke with a man to inform him of this. Of course, he claims to have been surprised at the run-around I had been dealing with and that they had never had a problem with this promo company before. He told me to let him know how I was getting on with my fight with them. I've since tried to call the same individual at Aquativa to let him know that I had not gotten anywhere with this, and he too, will not return my phonecalls. It is my opinion that a consumer should be skeptical of this company and that if they have a genuine product to sell, they should allow their potential customers to make an informed decision on their own time; not sign on the dotted line to the tune of a minimum of $6000-$9000 for this water system.

it doesnt surprise me because i was a tech for the company and you would be amazed and astonished at the things i have personally heard from customers about what the sales people have said just to make there commission. but then again it is a pyramid schemed business. the system itself is a great system if it is installed correctly. but there is one major point of things the sales staff tell people which is totally false and that is the aquativa system does not remove very little if any trittium or radium out of youre water. there is no system on the market that could achieve this and why they tell new customers it does totatlly blows me away. REMOVES IRON AND SULFER YES GIVES YOU THAT SILKY CLEAN FEELING SURE IF THE SYSTEMS DIALED IN PROPERLY REMOVES NUCLEOR WASTE DEPOSITS DO TO SEAPAGE TO GROUND WATER SUPPLYS NOT A CHANCE IF IT WAS POSSIBLE PEOPLE DONT YOU THINK EPA WOULD OF ALREADY DID IT?

AS TO SPEAKING WITH US SEVERAL TIMES, IF YOU CALL TWICE SEVERAL TIMES, I GUESS THAT IS "A LOT". THE "MISUNDERSTANDING" YOU SEEM TO IGNORE IS THAT WE WERE TOLD ONE THING BY YOUR EMPLOYEE AND FOUND OUT THE INFORMATION WE WERE TOLD WAS FALSE. IF YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO REPRESENT YOUR COMPANY, THAN WHO IS? WE WERE NOT TOLD WE COULD ONLY BUY THE FILTERS AND DO THIS OURSELVES AT A LOWER OUT OF POCKET PRICE UNTIL I SPOKE WITH THE YOUNG LADY WHO SO KINDLY HELPED ME THIS LAST TIME. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE YOU FEEL THE NEED TO ADVERTISE YOUR PRODUCT ON MY COMMENT. THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT, IT IS ABOUT THE LIES WE WERE TOLD BY YOUR SALESMAN!!!

Customer misunderstands filter change policy

#6UPDATE Employee

Sat, July 15, 2006

We have spoken to this customer on several occasions about this. The product that this customer purchased is a state-of-the-art, 6-stage purification system. It is designed to last a lifetime. It functions by reducing or removing hundreds of different contaminants that are found in today's drinking water. It is an ideal product for those wish to have better-than-bottled water quality water right from their kitchen sink. As with any high quality filtration product, the filters will wear out as they do their job. This is an inevitable result of the filters working 24 hours a day for a long period of time. This customer has chosen to forgo the protection that the Ultraviolet light provides, but is still getting purified water with the filters they change each year. The price the customer quotes above includes this light AND a charge if Covenant comes out and changes the filter for them. At this time, their total annual cost for their filter change is now around 65.00. To put this all in perspective, that's just over $5.00 a month. A bottle of purified water at the local grocery store costs about $1.29. So for the price of just FOUR bottles of purified water (less than one gallon total), this customer has a whole month of purified water right at their kitchen sink. The product provides them with a continuous supply -- up to 35 gallons a day if needed -- for all of their cooking, coffee, tea, juice, koolaid, ice, etc. Given this extraordinary value of the product they purchased, and the fact that it would cost roughly the same to get just 4 small bottles of water for the month without the product, we fail to understand this customer's continued disatisfaction. The have a product that is cost-effective, provides continuous purified water for their family 24 hours a day, and when properly maintained has a warranty that will last a lifetime.
