I attended a sales presentation in September 1994 at ARI Holiday Network's corporate offices.  At the end of the presentation, I purchased an every other year even year floating week timeshare.  At the time, ARI owned 2 resorts in the Austrian Alps, one resort in Antigua, and they were acquiring a resort in St. Martin.  A few years later one resort in the Caribbean was sold, and the other was closed.  On the day I purchased, I indicated I would prefer a resort in the continental United States.  Each year the annual letter indicated ARI was in the process of acquiring a state-side resort.  For 20 years ARI has made the same promise, and has yet to deliver once.

Since most sales are executed in Oakbrook Terrace, it would seem logical that ARI would acquire a resort within one day's driving distance from the Chicago suburbs.  Branson, Missouri would be a logical choice. I believe ARI should acquire a coastal resort in Florida and a resort in Las Vegas or California.  

The ARI corporate leadership appears to believe the membership has short memory capacity.  Each year they make the same promises, and each year they fail to deliver.
