Dave is correct my husband's debt was a FRAUD. The social security number on the account isn't even his. The date of birth is 60 years off and he NEVER had an account with that company. How much more obvious can this scam be? The Arrow company knows all of this information and still insist we pay a debt which is not ours. This takes much time from my day to send certified letters and contact people to stop contacting us when I could be working and making money to pay taxes to get this country into shape. Uneducated people who pay these debts and then have to file bankruptcy so I can pay their bills are hurting this country!!!!

You obviously didn't read the OP's complaint. The alleged debt IS A FABRICATION! Learn to read before spouting off like that. Also, the shape of this country has NOTHING to do with 6+ year old credit card debts that have gone unpaid.

Just because a debt is old doesnt mean you dont have to pay it. Thats why this county is in so bad shape. People dont want to take responsiblties for there debt. If there wasnt collections agencies people would never pay. Stop crying and pay what you owe.

After reading your comments, I think everyone can see why the Minnesota Dept of Commerce sued Arrow in November 2005, and won. Arrow also was given 60 days to comply with the law. I doubt they have done so in Minnesota or anywhere else. Also, being that you said the alleged debt was 11 years old, I'd bet that it would be out of the statute of limitations in every state. For Tennessee it is 6 years. So, by no means offer them a penny. These junk debt buyers bet on consumer ignorance, and hope that the consumer will be shocked or worried and offer a quick settlment. --DON'T--. It might bring some debt back into the statute of limitations. It would also do harm to your credit report. If you paid anything at all on an 11 year old debt (which can't be on your report), Arrow would re-age the debt on your report, because you would have "confirmed" the debt.

No matter what they say, do not let them have it. Instead send a certified letter demanding proof of the debt, and also tell them they cannot contact you anymore except by certified letter. In the letter, state that if they cannot provide proof of this alleged debt in 15 business days, then the case is closed, and you will forwarded any coorespondence to the Attorney General's office. Also state in the letter that this alleged debt is way past the statute of limitations in your state, and therefore, cannot be collected upon.
