Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I rec'd a letter from this company stating I they had bought out a company that I previously had a credit card with and they were attempting to collect, wanted to settle, and if I didn't notify them within 30 days to dispute they would assume the debt is valid. This account was paid in full over 5 years ago. I immediately called the # listed and advised them it had been paid in full over 5 years ago, they of course asked for proof, I contacted the bank who bought out the bank we used at the time of question and of course all records had been purged and during this time they had not yet started the imaging process of checks and statments. I know this account was paid in full and even pulled from our files an old credit report that I had ran on myseldf, no record of it on the report. I really don't think I should have to pay for this again. Can someone please help?

Arrow Financial recently paid a large fine for FDCPA violations

You may be interested to know that Arrow Financial recently paid a large fine ($125,000.00) to the AG's Office in Minnesota for violations of the FDCPA. Request verification of the debt. Send them a certified letter stating all communications are to be in writing. If they don't follow that, contact the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Good luck!

Write this bottom-feeding collector a ceast and desist letter, demanding that they provide you with actual proof that the debt is yours, when it was opened, etc. Send this letter certified. Tell them that the attorney general is receiving a copy of this letter as well. They will leave you alone after that. Remember, they MUST provide you proof that this is YOUR debt. Since they bought this debt for pennies, they can't provide that proof because they don't have paperwork, just your name. DO NOT GIVE THEM your SSN!!!! Good Luck
