I purchased my bedroom suit in Fayetteville, NC on Feb 1, 2006. I paid $3000 in cash for it. I was told that the furniture was in stock and that it would be delivered on the 15th of February.

So, on the 15th I did not receive a phone prior to the date nor on the date. Therefore, I decided to call the warehouse from which the delivery was supposed to come from. I was informed that the parts were backordered until the 22nd. I figured another week wasn't so bad.

The 21st rolls by and I get a call. At this point I'm thinking they were calling to schedule a delivery time. Wrong! They were calling to tell me that my furniture will be delivered on March 7th. I ask why and their answer was because they are missing some parts that will complete the set.

Now today is March 6th and of course I get a call today from the warehouse informing me that my furniture will not be ready until March 25th. So I go down to the store, of course mad as hell, to talk to the homestore manager. At this point I don't want the furniture anymore, I just want my money back. They have you sign a contract stating that you are aware of the fact that they make absolutely no refunds or exchanges when you purchase the furniture. The contract is basically to cover their own butts, too bad I found out this way, huh?

The reason why I'm so upset is that I'm a soldier and I have no time to worry about stupid things like this. I have more serious things to worry about, as well as any other person. I'm upset that they didn't even have the decency to send my mattress if not anything else. I'm upset that I've had to sleep on the floor for over a month and no one cares.

I honestly don't understand how they are allowed to get away with treating their customers like this. Had I known about this site, I honestly wouldn't have purchased anything from them. I'm furious right now because it's cold and I'm sleeping on the floor. I've had oral surgery and I'm sleeping on the floor. This is no way to treat people. Therefore, tomorrow I will be contacting the JAG office here at Ft Bragg about this. I cannot deal with this any longer. Also, I'm going to contact my family lawyer and see what we can do. So, I'll keep this updated.

You are forgetting to post the fact that the waiver you signed at the counter states " All arrival dates are ESTIMATED , and try as hard as we can, may not be accurate " I sympathise with your circumstances, but unfortunately, this happens sometimes. All orders are places directly to ashley, no stock no warehousing. This insures you always pay lower prices and in fact, over 90% of Ashleys orders are delivered within 3 weeks of date of purchase. No warehousing and no stock = lower prices for you. If this bothers you, feel free to shop at one of the many other furniture stores that will gladly charge you the normal 100% mark up for the same merchandise, but what the heck, you will have it in a week.
