Associated Tax Relief did not live up to their promises made to me. I signed up with ATR to have them help me file all the years I did not file (that took 2 years) and them help me with the Offer in Compromise application (6 months). After it was all through the IRS denied my Offer and now ATR will not answer my phone calls or emails. The associate I was assigned to (the 3rd one), can no longer recieve phone messages. His phone messages are full.

Yesterday, I spoke with the receptionist and was told he was reviewing my file and would get back to me that day. No call from my associate. No suprise. I guess I am on my own now, which I probably have been from the start but did not know it. I paid ATR $3900 to handle my case.

Yesterday I called their sales department and gave them my same particulars I did 2 years ago and was told that they could reduce my tax liability by 90% and it would be done in 6 months. Don't believe it. Never happen. The IRS was not suprised that I had been scammed by ATR. They could never reach them either about my case.

Apparently I was on my own from the start. ATR never negoiated with the IRS on my behalf. All they did was help me with filing some returns and applying for an Offer in Compromise that was rejected. It was rejected for many errors in the application which I am not in the process of trying to correct.

Associated tax relief is a total scam. They have an F rating with the BBB. They take your money then do nothing. They do not return calls and sometimes they hang up on you. Please dont be fooled by a fast talking salesman they are paid high commissions to get you to sign up with them. They take your money up front and then thats it you are done. All that happens is you will start to get into more trouble with the IRS. I called and they told me the IRS rejected my offer in comprimise and they could no longer help me. Then I found out they never even filed for that!!!! The voicemail is full all the time and they have a high turnover rate with employees. Stay away for gods sake!!!!

Last line should read "NOW in the process trying to correct." Actually, the case has now been forwarded to appeals and I am gathering all the materials that I had sent and recieved from ATR. Their are still gross errors in the application. Most of them could have been avoided if it were reviewed but ATR never did. Now I am on my own to handle the appeals process and correct all the errors ATR made on my Offer in Compromise application.
