 My house was broken into almost 2 months ago and I have not been able to put this ordeal behind me. Customer service is non-existent within the CSR agents or claim staff itself. At the beginning of the ordeal I felt like the process would be smooth and processed in a timely manner. HOWEVER, once I filed my claim this company turned their backs to me. I can't get in contact with my adjuster, her supervisor, or the director of the claims department. Emails go unanswered and phone calls go directly to voicemail. I was told yesterday that they have a high claim volume at this time which I feel like is a poor excuse and not my concern. Having a high claim volume is a company wide issue that needs to be worked out internally without it affecting the client. People get insurance to have a piece of mind in life while hoping that they won't have to use it. Now, that I know how the company treats its customers the whole "peace of mind" feeling goes out the window. Reading reviews online I see that this company has a pattern of bad faith when it comes to its customers, 15 states have investigated its practices, and that they have been sued and lost numerous times. To go online and not see one positive review or expereince with/about Assurant makes me wonder if I should be reaching out to attorneys myself. They have a complete disregard for their customers. I was initially told that the process would take between 15-25 days and then 20-30 days. The timeframe within itself is a joke. Its still in review and has been for over a month. Please tell me how many morons does it take to review a freaking claim??!! If this company cared about its clients at all they would know that 2 and 3 months is outrageous.  Purchasing a claim with this company is a waste of money. I don't know which is worse, having someone breakin and steal everything or dealing with this company. Assurant's tagline should read " WE MAKE THE INSURED UNINSURED" because that is exactly what you will feel like. Dont waste your time with this company.
