Do not use this service it is a sham. This company is a farce and slipshod.

I bought an item from TigerDirect and used Assurz. The item had to be returned. This was over a month ago. I got an e-mail from Assurz on 5-30-08 saying the refund check was on the way. To date NOTHING.

Don't buy from Tiger Direct or use Assurz unless you want to get ripped off and screwed over. There are other companies who will treat you with respect and whose word is good.

Stay as far away as possible from Assurz and Tiger Direct. Order elsewhere and spare yourself the nightmare of getting jerked around.

The worst part is that Tiger Direct knew Assurz was going bust and set up their customers.

Save yourself from being ripped off order your all computer stuff from NewEgg.

Be sure to read their return policy very carefully if you decide to do business with them, It's very strict.

Curtis, your arrogance is a mere display of your ignorance concerning my personal matter with Tiger Direct. You have no idea how many phone calls I made, e-mails sent or hours I spent trying to get that refund due me. Thanks for the convoluted story. I am sure you like to listen to yourself talk too. Customers deserve to know how a business is run and if it rips them off or does not come through for them as promised. Tiger Direct did not handle the situation in a reputable manner until they were forced into a corner. Just because I would not throw away more money on them for toll phone calls to get said refund hardly equates laziness. If you are fool enough to throw good money after bad then you have the right to be a fool and also stupid enough to kiss up to Tiger Direct. You probably work for them. Yes, you wanted to stir up trouble and make me look bad and you judged me in your ignorance without any research into the facts of the specific case. I find fools to be the most arrogant and you fit the bill. Time to shut up, dude before you reveal just how stupid you REALLY are.

Im sorry to stir up sh*t but this person has to be the laziest person i've seen here. All you had to do was call a phone number and wait..... THAT IS IT! WHALAH! REFUND CHECK! and you didnt even have to get your blood pressure up. I mean the employee CLEARLY EXPLAINED that assurz (The insurance company whom you would have recieved the check from) went out of business (bankrupt probably) and tiger direct in GOOD FAITH AT A LOSS TO THEMSELVES are replacing your items and you sir have an issue with that still? If thats not customer service then I dont know what is.... How about this... How about lets say you have Allstate Insurance on your car and you run into my car at an intersection and before I can collect me claim money of lets say oh.... $15,000 (because you really suck at driving) from your insurance company allstate they decide to go out of business and declard bankruptcy like United Airlines did earlier this year.... So now that i can no longer get my $15,000 from allstate should i be expecting you to cough up $15,000 to me even though you've been paying allstate $400/mo (cause your credit and driving record really suck) for the last 10 years? Yeah If this really happened you can bet your a*s because I dont like people like yourself I would sue the living sh*t out of you.

In the previous situation, assurz (a completely indpendent company) went out of business without warning (even to us) and we gladly supported any customer that contacted us with an assurz situation, because we stand behind our service. We are not "scammers", we are not "underhanded" or any of the other slanderous names we have been called. We are a highly reputable company that has been in business for 20 years, because we promptly go to bat for our customers, even when we don't have to. The customer is this case opted to complain on ripoff report, when we would have taken care of the situation promptly had be just called our toll free hotline (which was never done). If any other customers have any issues regarding refunds, rebates, services or anything, please do not hesitate to call us 24 hours a day at 800 800 8300, and we will gladly assist you. Thank You, Pat Altine TigerDirect.com

Please, Go ahead and report them to myflorida.com. I filed a report with them on a rebate issue I had. Before the attorney general responded, I finally got the rebate so I decided not to persue it any further. The attorney general's office contacted me a 2nd time and specifically said I should send all documentation EVEN IF THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. They need to know tiger direct is still trying to scam people.

Finally a refund

I finally got my refund and wanted to wait to make sure TigerDirect's check didn't bounce before posting here. It didn't. All I can say is no consumer should have to go through the hassles I did to get a simple refund for a returned insured item. My suggestion to all other consumers is if TigerDirect rips you off in any way or treats you less than an decent a reputable company should visit this site. It is for the Attorney General of Florida and would have been my next step. http://myfloridalegal.com/ They take consumer protection seriously. It is our right. Joe W.

Sir, Yes, you did buy the item from us, and even though we had no idea that assurz was going out of business, if you call the number that I had previously given (a line set up for PRECISELY your issue) we, not assurz, will promptly send you the refund. We are so dedicated to customer service we are gladly taking up the liability for another company so that our customers are properly taken care of. Also, you can call our free 800 number, and you can be transferred to the assurz line. If you have any other questions, please contact me at [email protected]. Thank You, Pat A. Customer Service

Tiger Direct doesn't have a response to no refunds

Here is some more info for consumers to consider. http://www.digitaltransactions.net/newsstory.cfm?newsid=1823 I looks to me like Tiger Direct was forewarned about Assurz but still let their victims (customers) buy the bogus insurance and make returns to Assurz knowing full well what was up. Looks like collusion to me. People take your business elsewhere. Also be aware that Tiger Direct and CompUSA are one in the same. Caveat emptor!!!!!!!! http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080107-back-from-the-dead-compusa-assets-snapped-up-by-tigerdirect.html Joe W. .....who still doesn't have a refund for merchandise returned over a month and a half ago.

It is a Tiger Direct Issue

With all due respect Pat A. I will not waste another dime on Tiger Direct by calling a toll phone number just to be given more of your bs runaround. It is no longer an Assurz issue since they are no longer in business as you well know. You were partners with them and I bought the merchandise from you, Tiger Direct. To date all of my calls are met with you will get a check in 7-10 days. Well several weeks later I have seen nada, nothing, zilch. Now I am told I am on a waiting list for June and Tiger Direct is only on the May rip-offs. I ordered and returned my product to your partner Assurz in May. So why am I on a June list for refund processing? I have never been so jerked around by any business in my entire life as I have by Tiger Direct. They only way you can make me happy is to refund me the full amount of my purchase with shipping included, stop sending me your advertisements since I consider them spam and junk mail. At the end of the day Tiger Direct is responsible for the products they sell and to their customers. Tiger Direct has been irresponsible and unprofessional. My suggestion to anyone reading this is to order elsewhere as there are reputable companies (NewEgg) who will value our business, treat you with respect, promptly refund your money for a returned item without a delay or a runaround. Tiger Direct is not reputable, if so I would have had a complete refund a long time ago with no delays or excuses period. Take responsibility. Joe W.

Assurz issue

#15UPDATE Employee

Tue, June 17, 2008

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but there is no "underhandedness" present in the partnership with assurz. Assurz had some some server issues, and contact was difficult for our customers temporarily. However, throughout that time, if a customer called us, and said there was an issue, we took care of the customers as if we were assurz (prepaid shipping, full refunds, all within 90 days). If you have already sent back your item and are awaiting a check, please call 305-415-2978 between hours of 9am-9pm eastern time, and you will be issued a check with 7-10 days. If you have any questions, you may e-mail me at [email protected]. Sincerely, Pat A. Customer Service.
