Astro Enterprises, Audiofile consumer fraud ripoff Hackensack New Jersey
Two men approached me in a white van and said they had home surround sound equipment and tower speakers for sale. Usual pitch where warehouse put too many on the truck and they wanted to unload one set before they go onto an installation job. I told them I would follow them to the job which was local and watch them install a system and then possibly buy one.
They agreed and then disappeared quickly as I walked to my truck. I called the cops but they already knew about the scam and said they couldn't do a thing about it. Most they could do is get them for soliciting without a permit. They said the property isn't stolen. I mentioned that it is fraud since what they are selling isn't actualy what was on the box. The company name they used was Astro Enterprises out of New Jersey and the van insurance and registration was under the same.
