Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I opened an account with them months ago. Due to terrible service and awful connections and dropped calls I cancelled the phones within about 10 days. (Well within their timeframe for cancellation of service.) They sent me an outrageous bill and wouldn't work with us. So whatever, finally got tired of dealing with them so we paid the bill.

Two months later we are still getting bills. We called, they said they didn't cash it. Our bank says they did. We sent them copies of the cancelled checks. They say it's not theirs. (Yeah, whatever.) Anyways, so the fraud department at our bank gets involved. In the meantime ATT promises that they won't turn our account to collections or show any negative remarks on our (my) credit.

So what do I get in tonights mail? Four months later roughly? A statement from a credit bureau where those assholes turned us in. It is not my responsibility to figure out where their money went when I sent my check in in their envelope. That's there deal. So now not only has this gone unsettled for months, now they are turning me over to collections.

I am right in the process of buying a new home too and now have this to deal with. ATT and Cingular Wireless are the biggest fraud a**holes ever, and I will NEVER as long as I live, do business with them. I just want this over and done with and want to be free of them, they have their money and they need to leave me alone!!!

I cancelled within 10 days and I know they have a 30 day return policy! That is my whole problem. I was able to return the phones without a problem, and they didn't charge a termination fee, but they still charged for the days the phone was used. (12 days) I talked to at least 15 people there about it, because I was upset that the final billing for 12 days of service was well over $100 but no one would help me with that. They said that even though I cancelled the phones I owed them for air time used, which I understand, I just can't imagine that it was so expensive. (Mind you in the 12 days I of course hadn't gone over my minutes, etc.) I just thought they were very spendy, their people were rude and not helpful in the least. And in my area of the country the reception and service was very poor even though they swore it would work just fine. I paid the bill because everyone told me I had to. That I owed them. So I took care of it as to not have it negatively affect my credit. Believe what you will, I have no reason to write it here if it wasn't true, it's not like I am going to get anything out of it. I just wanted others to be cautious in dealing with them as I feel I got taken to the cleaners. That's all.

Why did you pay? It simply doesn't add up.

If you cancelled within 10 days (and Cingular is the only company with a 30 day return policy), why would you pay any "outrageous bill?" It simply doesn't add up. Sorry, the facts are sketchy here. Too sketchy to believe without further details.
