Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I just read three or four reports on this company that very closely resemble my experience.

Warning: Do not give this company ANY of your hard earned money.

I heard an ad on the radio and thought a tax lawyer would be great to help my wife and me finally consolidate our past due taxes and possibly negotiate the amount down to a lower number based on our hardship with some serious health issues and inablitity to work.

I researched Authority Tax Services online and they looked really good. I wish I had seen these reports back then.

I spoke with a great, enthusiastic salesman - front office guy named Daniel Stevens - who said that they could take our case for $3,000 and he all but guaranteed that they would save me AT LEAST $3,000 and get all the past due taxes, interest and penalties "streamlined" into one payment. Was he aware that he was completely lying?  I don't know.

From the point I signed the contracts (online, they make it VERY easy) and paid them, things went downhill very fast.

For the next 8 months, I was put in touch with 5 or 6 different representatives who didn't seem to have any idea what was going on. None of them provided answers to very simple questions.

After 8 months of interest and penalties growing as I waited for Authority Tax Services to help us, I called the IRS myself.  Within less than an hour, I had negotiated a payment plan.  Unfortunately, we owe even more now because of Authority.

Interestingly, they told me that Authority had contacted them ONCE in that 8 month period to request some information, but that they had no authority to negotiate with the IRS.  Almost laughable since their name is Authority Tax Services. Authority never had me sign the proper form to negotiate on my behalf. (???!!!!!)

I doubt I'll ever see that $3,000.  I would love to send it to the IRS instead.  Shame on Authority.  (They knew my wife was going through intense cancer treatments that whole time.)  I don't know how people who work for these companies can sleep at night.
