Our company was researching a merchant services outfit (for companies who need online credit card processing) and had been talking with Brad Diamond (sales, I presume) at Authorize.net as well as one of their resellers. One of our employees jumped the gun and started filling out Authorize.net's online application form without my knowledge. He said he wanted to save time and to also get more information. To get to the next page of the application, he would hit the 'Next' button. After several pages, when he hit the 'Next' button, it came back saying the application had been submitted! When I learned of this the next day, I immediately called Mr. Diamond and left a message on his voicemail to NOT process the application - that it was a mistake. I waited until the next day, but no callback. I certainly got immediate callbacks when he was still trying to sell me their services! I called and emailed him several times over the next few weeks, but there was no response. Next thing I know, we're getting billed $155.71 for setup fees. We went with their reseller (MerchantWarehouse.com which has been wonderful) instead, because they didn't have any setup fees and their percentage per sales was lower. I told all this to Mr. Diamond in my messages. So I'm using Authorize.net with MerchantWarehouse.com anyway (and paying my bills!). I called Authorize.net as soon as I received the first bill and explained the situation. They said someone would contact me; there's been no callbacks to any of my calls. Then I receive a Final Notice with threat of collection agency. I called again; no callback. Now my company is in collections with Landry & Jacobs out of Arizona, and they've already called. Not a nice experience. DON'T USE AUTHORIZE.NET FOR YOUR MERCHANT SERVICES; THEIR FEES ARE HIGHER THAN THEIR RESELLERS AND IMPOSSIBLE TO WORK WITH.

I have had a simliar experience with this company just recently.

My Sales rep Cameron Hodges, was very agressive about getting my signed up. After signed up I received what I would describe as deflection service. The only times I spoke to my sales rep, was when I signed up and when I cancelled... Mr Diamond, is now the manager for my sales rep so I am hoping ( yet doubtful ) they will credit be back part of my setup.

We were trying to use authorize.net as our gateway provider and was assured that it would be no problem, as they have done many Canadian accounts... well 1 month later I was still not able to process anything and between my merchant provider and gateway provider, whom ironically referred me to each other, neither were able to help me get my service running properly. If authorize.net was as quick with there customer service follow up as they were with there billing, they would not have such a bad reputation.

I called and spoke to customer service, to see what they can do.... I am hoping this service does not go the same route as yours into collections....

The Original Ripoff Report Text: Our company was researching a merchant services (for companies who need online credit card processing) outfit and had been talking with Brad Diamond (sales, I presume) at Authorize.net as well as one of their resellers. One of our employees jumped the gun and started filling out Authorize.net's online application form without my knowledge. This employee said he wanted to save time and to also get more information. To get to the next page of the application, he would hit the 'Next' button. Aut, after several online pages, when he hit the 'Next' button, it came back saying the application had been submitted! When I learned of this the next day, I immediately called Mr. Diamond and left a message on his voicemail to NOT process the application - that it was a mistake and we were going to use one of his resellers instead. I waited until the next day, but no callback. (I certainly got immediate callbacks when he was still trying to sell me their services!) We went with their reseller instead (MerchantWarehouse.com who has been wonderful, because they didn't have any setup fees and their percentage per sale was lower. I told all this to Mr. Diamond in my messages. So, it's ironic that I'm using Authorize.net through MerchantWarehouse.com (and paying my bills, by the way!) and yet am being harrassed by them anyway. I called Authorize.net as soon as I received the first bill and explained the situation. They said someone would contact me; there's been no callbacks to any of my calls. Then I received a Final Notice with threat of collection agency blah, blah, blah. I called again; no callback. Now my company is in collections with Landry & Jacobs out of Arizona, and they've already called to ask if I'm going to "voluntarily resolve this issue". Not a nice experience. DON'T USE AUTHORIZE.NET DIRECTLY FOR YOUR MERCHANT SERVICES; THEIR FEES ARE HIGHER THAN THEIR RESELLERS, AND THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO WORK WITH WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM/ISSUE. ONCE THE SALE IS DONE, GOOD LUCK. Pat G. @ Shoreline, Washington U.S.A.
