Available Movers So Bad and So Unprofessional Astoria New York
The worst company ever. The team stacked several hundred pounds of furniture on top of my pedestal heirloom dining table. Of course, when it arrived all six legs were broken off the two pedestals. There were several scratches on the top because it was protected with a single thin pad. The side of the table was also scratched as one of the movers slide the unprotected edge along the floor of the truck - as I watched!
The driver had me fill out the Bill of Lading before unloading otherwise I would never have agreed to any of the terms. He even wanted final payment and his tip before unloading.
There were no inventory sheets, the driver claimed the truck got lost and arrived 3 hours late because they didn't have a truck GPS that would help them avoid the restricted parkways of NY & NJ. This is a NY company! I have no idea if I received all my goods.
Although they acknowledged they stacked the truck incorrectly, there were no apologies - they told me to file a claim at MovingClaims.net. That's their way of not accepting responsibility for their actions. I sent pictures of everything to movingclaims.net and after 6 months, what did they offer but $72. The table was destroyed.
My advice: (1) avoid these guys at all costs. Read the reviews - they are true (2) sign nothing until you have a full accounting of your furniture and belongings. I may still sue them...the entire experience was so unprofessional
