Avid released Fast Track Ultra 8R audio interface on 2008. I bought it on 2011 and used it on my iMac in my music studio with no problems. But since the last OS X update (El Capitan) it stopped working. A big thread started at their site about this problem, with many angry customers asking for a driver update, but Avid was absent. I sent them a mail, and they replied assuring me that they would pass the word to the technical team. Note that contacting them was very hard, since they charge internet support! Four months after the release of El Capitan, they stated that they stop supporting this product, which was last sold on 2013. In their site they distinguish "technical support", which they state that will be available till 2018 for this product, from "driver updates", which they state may be released after the final sale date (2013 for this product). And I ask you: Even if we accept that drivers for a USB audio interface (that is supposed to be used connected to a computer with fresh and not outdated OS X, just because Avid stopped supporting their products) is not "technical support", what about the guy that bought the interface on 2013. Avid abandoned him after two years, his 400€ interface is for decoration only, and he has to spend 400-1200€ to buy a new one, because of Avid's plans. Unacceptable, unprofessional attitude. No respect for customers. Shame on Avid!!!
