March 4th purchased the car from Bangor Car Care

March 11th Finally picked vehicle up. The mechanics told us that they had to keep it for a prolonged amount of time to fix many different problems to make it pass an inspection. The check engine light was on when we picked up the car, but the representatives at Bangor Car Care told us that the light was probably due to the gas cap being on incorrectly.

March 12th -- We connected our OBD2 Tester to the car to check the diagnostic codes for the check engine light; the code said "P0306" OR Number 6 Cylinder was misfiring.

March 28th -- Brought the car to Bumper to Bumper at approximately 9:30 A.M. for the transmission slipping AND the check engine light. They had the car in the shop for a few hours. They put Transmission Treatment Fluid in it and said they couldn't find any problems with either the transmission OR the Engine Diagnostic test.

April -- We had to bring the car in at least 3 different times because they wanted us to bring it in "when it was slipping" - A Bumper to Bumper mechanic took it for a test drive each time as well as "looking at it" and came back each time saying that it wasn't doing anything. Upon leaving, it continued to slip each time. The lady at the front desk told me that there was nothing that they could do to fix it until the transmission died completely.

May -- The exhaust actually broke apart and had to be taken in to Bumper to Bumper to be welded back together.

May 13th -- We brought the car to Muffler King in Newport to get a second opinion on whether the car should have passed inspection in March. The Mechanic did an inspection and was very certain that the car should NOT have passed. Amongst the problems we were having, the mechanic listed that the Right front bearing and Right inner tire rod were bad and that there was too much rust. He said this vehicle should not have passed inspection. We had this done because we were already considering getting legal help, but we didn't have the money to continue.

June 20th -- had to replace brakes in car.

June, July, and August -- Transmission in car continued to slip. We tried reaching Glen of Bangor Car Care to talk about returning the car and getting a refund. After countless messages, he never got back to us.

August -- Tried to get another Car through Van Syckle, but they said that the car we are paying over $10,000 was only worth $1,800. They wouldnt finance us for another car because we were already making payments on the Pontiac. Also, we had to replace the Passenger front caliper.

September 3rd Transmission Died.

September 5th -- Car towed away by Bouchard's Auto in Hermon.

September 6th -- Man in charge at Bouchard's said that the car was not worth fixing. It needs new intake gaskets, a new transmission, wheel bearing, tired rod end. It also has holes in the frame and body rot. He said that the State Inspection man had taken a look at it and was going to talk to Bangor Car Care. The car only has 6,000 miles on it since it was purchased, and we have been having these problems since Day 1. Also, I went to Bumper to Bumper to get a print off of every time I've been in to visit for transmission problems-the guy told me that they didn't have it "saved in their computer." He told me that he remembers the car. We filed a claim online to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles Investigation section and are expecting a response within 10 business days.
