Buyer beware! When you obtain an America West Flightfund Visa (for aireline miles) that is issued by Bank America... Bank of Americas automatically bills you $75 for an "Annual Fee" to join their "benefit program"

No place did I read in the brocure and application I received in the mail asking me to join since i was already an AW Flightfund memeber, that I would be forced to join what appears to be one of those bogus buying clubs.

I have disputed the charge to no avil.

America West and Bank of America are in collusion on this as it appears.

AW sucks! for allowing this "partner" to fleece it's flying faithful.

Thanks for warning people. This is from the website but I can see how if you signed up from America West this would have been unseen. Here it says $45 annual fee but possibly they enrolled you in a Platinum card or something similar. The APRs are misleading - 0.1524 is actually 15.24%, 0.2124 is actually 21.24%. You may have agreed to the terms almost by default but it does seem like a site trying to deceive. FROM AMERICA WEST WEBSITE America West FlightFund Visa Card Name America West FlightFund Visa Card Issuer Bank of America Category Reward - Airline Status Standard Intro Rate 0.019 Time Period 6 Months Applied To Purchases, Balance Transfers APR For Purchases 0.1524 Fixed/Variable For Purchases Variable APR For Cash Advances 0.2124 Fixed/Variable For Cash Advances Variable APR For purchases 0.1524 Annual Fee 45 Grace Period 20 Days (Min.)
