Bank Of America AD & D Insurance Insurance Fraud Portland Oregon
We noticed an unusual charge on our Bank of America Visa card. I called B of A, got the number - 800-952-0270 of a company listed as AD&D Insurance. I called this number and inquired about the charge; they said my 93 year old father had signed up for this death & dismemberment policy in 7/2008. He signed nothing. Why would someone buy an insurance policy for himself and his wife when neither of them are within the qualifying age limits?
We looked back on our VISA bills to Jan 1 2007 and have found 5 charges in the amount of $24.75 each. We missed this as the charges are so sporadic and I share the card with my parents; it was an unfortunate oversight but being busy people and I am in graduate school, one charge my mom thought was something of her's and another my charge. We have called Bank of America; had a conference call with representatives of this company and as I am moving to assist my parents they are with me 600 miles from their mailing address; when I asked if this company could fax a copy of this supposed signature my father signed, they said they have no fax machine. This is a scam run by Bank of America and their VISA card system. I know as I had both of them on line at the same time, all lying to me.
I have done extensive research on this and this appears to be a company in either Salem or Portland Oregon and I only found that by 3 days of searching on the web. They have no address listed except one regarding privacy issues and all 800 numbers except if you want media relations - 971-321-8541. I have contacted the state I live in regarding insurance fraud and will contact where Bank of America does business, New York, New York and the Attorney General of the State of New York. I greatly appreciate seeing other individuals who have posted regarding this scam-fraud. Thank you for assistance.
