I didn't know there was such a lousy bank in the USA. In August if 2008 B of A charged my debit card $2400 for some computers I never authorized. But my checking account only had a balance of $1100. So this overdrew my checking account by $1300. Or Bank of America loaned me $1300 is another way to put it. The B of A website says the B of A Visa check card is not a credit card.It certainly looks like a credit card to me.

As my direct deposit from Social Security goes into that account, I am almost broke. Not even money for rent this month. Can someone please help me. my e-mail is (((REDACATED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)))yahoo.com. My phone # 954-***-****. Thank you very much.

I'm confused because I'm not sure what you are complaining about. Did you purchase $2400 worth of computer items thinking you were doing it with a credit card? Did some computer company you know nothing about charge your check card? You need to get the name and phone number of the computer company from your bank to find out why they charged your check card. However, I can clarify something. No, the VISA check card is not a credit card. It does not extend credit. With a credit card, you charge something, then get billed for it, then pay it. With a VISA check card, you charge something, but the money gets taken right out of your checking account. Even though it looks like a VISA credit card, and can be used anywhere that accepts VISA, it does not extend credit.

If you didn't authorize the computer purchase did you go to Bank of America and report it? If this is a fradulent purchase why do you make a point that it is not a Credit Card? If it is a fraud it does not matter.

You claim you did not authorize the computer purchase, but thought your check card was credit card?

Which is it? Did you buy the computer and thought you charged it using your check card as a credit card ? If you bought the computers under the assumption you were charging it - then you are in the wrong and have to deal with it. Does not matter that you have a limited income - deal with it

Did you goto the bank and file an affadavit of fraud? It isn't their fault if someone stole your identity AND you don't alert them. Let them know, and get the money back into your account.

I find it hard to believe that there was a $2400 charge on your account that you didn't authorize and you're complaining about the bank. Contact their fraud department. Tell them that you didn't authorize the $2400 purchase.
