Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On the 1st of January someone took it a pond themselves to make purchases with my debit card. Not only had they made several unauthorized charges in large purchases at three different stores, but continued to use card at the ATM and made sure to withdrawal the remaining amount, maxing out my checking account at the Bank of America. You would think that the bank would have contacted me or at the least put a freeze on my account after the first transaction due to the abnormal outrageous amount, considering the fact that I've been banking with Bank of America at the same branch for the past five years. I know you're probably wondering how this ever even had the chance of happening so let me explain. It's the simple common unfortunate act of my wallet being stolen. This all happened during the time that I was moving out of my house, because of that at first I wasn't thinking that my wallet was stolen but misplaced. I told my mom how I misplaced my wallet but was hoping that it would pop up somewhere during the move. The next day, on the 2nd, my mom called my bank and filed dispute the second she heard that the account was wiped out. I called to check the status of the dispute just to be informed that because my mom called in the dispute wasn't filed, therefor, I then filed one myself. I called a few days later yet again to check the status of my dispute and they told me that they were not going to refund me of my money. I explained how the charges made were unauthorized and if they reviewed tapes at the stores and ATM where the card was used they would clearly see that it was not me. I've been a loyal customer for over 5 years & never spent that amount in a single day or purchases that large. They had several signs & warnings that screamed fraud but they just ignored them, on both ends. The retail stores & the bank are both irresponsible for allowing the transactions to take place. I need my money and the have insurance to cover them what do I have to protect me?

Mr. Kendrick, if it was just purchases in one day, the bank would look at it different. In your case, there was also an ATM withdrawl with a pin.

As said, I would look at friends or family members who had access to take your wallet and know  your pin.

also 'Google' this- HOW WOULD SOMEONE DUPLICATE YOUR ATM CARD AND PIN?, and go to the related sites to see that it is possible to duplicate a PIN # and use a stolen or lost debit card, okay?

Remember, the United States of America is a country whose foundation is solidly built on lies, deception, fraud, manipulation, greed, trickery, deep corruption, and the constant pursuit to financially injure the innocent people living here and all over the world. These are the main reasons that our economy 'collapsed' back in 2008, and it's precisely why it will happen again, because things haven't changed much since 2008.

Good luck to you!

P.S. You can stay at this site and type in 271454 and go to 'Consumer Comment #1' at Ripoff Report #271454, which was posted on September 3, 2007. Paragraph #3 stated that the 'Collapse of the U.S. economy' was in its infancy on that day. That was a little over one year before the U.S. economy 'collapsed' and the stock market crashed. On September 29, 2008, the Dow Jones lost a record 777 points in one full day of trading.

There was a $700 Billion TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) and a $787 Billion 'stimulus plan' that was required to keep the USA from going into another Depression. That's a total of $1.487 Billion that was injected into the economy and into failing companies like- General Motors, Chrysler, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, General Electric, and others.

Taxpayer's money was required to keep Wall Street and the government afloat.

You can 'Google' the following videos and watch them on the web for PROOF that the USA is a country whose foundation is solidly built on lies, deception, fraud, manipulation.............-

You have to explain the PIN.

I explained how the charges made were unauthorized and if they reviewed tapes at the stores and ATM where the card was used they would clearly see that it was not me."

It does not matter that it was not you.   What matters is how the person obtained your PIN.  If you gave it to them, you're not going to have any luck with the bank.   They will reimburse for fraudulent transactions, but they draw the line when you compromise the primary security feature.

If the culprit turns out to be someone you know (likely if they had your PIN), you'll either have to eat the loss, or press charges against them.

Missing pieces

There are several missing pieces that you may want to consider to give you a clearer picture.

Not only had they made several unauthorized charges in large purchases at three different stores, but continued to use card at the ATM and made sure to withdrawal the remaining amount,
-
There is only one way that they could use your card at the ATM.  They had to have the PIN number.  So either you did something stupid and put the PIN on your card or in your wallet, which would make you negligent therfore they would not be responsible.  There was some random person took a very good guess.  Or someone you know figured out(or had) your PIN number.   So perhaps you should start with people who may know you.

You would think that the bank would have contacted me or at the least put a freeze on my account after the first transaction due to the abnormal outrageous amount,
-
So what is abnormal to you?  Double your highest amount, Tripple, 10 Times?  What if the bank put a "freeze" on your account and you did make that purchase.  I can guarantee you that you would be here complaining that they caused you a huge inconvienience for doing that when they had no right because it is your money.

considering the fact that I've been banking with Bank of America at the same branch for the past five years.
-
There is not someone at your branch who is watching every single Debit Card transaction.

The next day, on the 2nd, my mom called my bank and filed dispute the second she heard that the account was wiped out.
- How did she hear about this?  Is she on the account, if not then why would she call?

I explained how the charges made were unauthorized and if they reviewed tapes at the stores and ATM where the card was used they would clearly see that it was not me.
-
They can, but they generally won't without at least a police report.  Now here is something to think about, and why you may want to look a little closer at people you know first.   That is unless you don't care what happens to them.  The reason I say this is because if you file a police report and they find out who it actually was.  You will probably get your money back, but because they are now the one with the "loss" they will procecute that person or persons.  Then because you are no longer out any money you have zero say in it.  So if it is (for example) your mom, she could probably end up in jail.

'Google' this- AM I PROTECTED FROM UNAUTHORIZED DEBIT CARD PURCHASES?, and go to the related sites and read the information that's available.

You can also contact your Attorney General's office and file a complaint and see if they can assist you.

I believe that most retail stores and most ATM machines have video surveillance, which would definitely prove who used your card because the transaction times are usually posted on the receipts, correct?

You can also contact ALL of your Local T.V. Stations and get in touch with the Investigative Reporters and tell them what happened. Maybe one of them will expose your story on T.V. and it will put pressure on the bank to give you the money that was illegally taken from your bank account.

Good luck to you, and don't give up!

How?

but continued to use card at the ATM and made sure to withdrawal the remaining amount

Stealling your wallet does NOT provide the PIN which is needed to make withdrawls at an ATM.  My guess is that the person using your card is someone who KNOWS you and KNOWS your PIN number!

How many people fit this description?  I think you should look to your family and close friends as to who the culprit is.

Why was your mother envolved at all?  SHE should know that the bank isn't going to do anything based on HER input unless she is also on the account.

Where is a police report?   Did you report these crimes to your local police?  If not, why not???

Seems to me that should have been your first move once you noticed an unauthorized purchase/withdrawl.  Seems to me that should have been the first thing your MOTHER suggested to you after she learned about this.

Look to your inner circle of people to find the thief.
