I received a letter from Juniper Credit Card Services notifying me my Juniper credit card was changing my account. They refered to Transunion in the letter as part of the rason for reducing my line of credit down to $500. I am carrying a $10 and change credit on my account currently.

Decision is based on: "Length of time Revolving Bankcards have been established is too short" and "Recent Payment on this account is too low"

I called and spoke to a representative asking for clarification. After explaining this is the banks decision and not Juniper Credit, I asked if I was speaking to a bank representative which he said I was. He said, " Your spending is too low." And I asked for clarification of the statment, and he said, "The computer says you don't spend enough to warrent such a high credit line (2,000). (The card is barely a year old and I pay the ammount due when my expense checks come in.)

I asked for my credit in the form of a check. I verified there was no one left to speak to on the matter and I voiced my dissatisfaction. I asked that he record my dissatisfaction and asked that if there was no way of improving my relationship with the bank, to please notify his supperiors that I wish to close the account in that case. He told me there was no need to do so. He promptly closed my account and told me to distroy the card and notify any businsesses that may have my credit card number to cease using that account as payment.

After reading other reports on this site, I have come to the conclusion (in my opinion) that this institution is cleaning house and only want clients that carry a balance so they can charge fees. This letter they sent refers to not having revolving credit as the time held is too short. What does this mean? That the other accounts I have had for many years don't count? and why would they (Barclays) give me credit in the first place?
