Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I am writing this because something needs to be done about  these kind of people. I won't lie to you, yes, I am upset. When a person tries to keep up on their credit card payments, in these hard economic times, and you are penalized for making your payment on the due date, and a late pay placed on your credit report, something has to be done to stop these loan sharks. I am all for a class action against this company. On Oct.16,2009, I made my payment, not the minimum payment, I sent a hundred dollars, when I checked my e-mail, I saw that they (Juniper) had sent me an e-mail stating that  I was over my limit, I then went to there site, and saw that my balance was higher after I had made my payment on line. I called and talked to a lady, that sounded like she was in India, and I could barely understand, that yes, I had made my payment on the due date, but, it was late by 1 hour. I don't know about you, but, it was not the next day, it was on the due date. They placed a $46.00 late fee, and reported a late pay to the credit reporting company. Why have a due date?
I really hope this kind of thing can be stopped, before others are fleeced.

There isn't- more to this story! The same thing happened to me.  I paid my balance in full, but Juniper is famous for not posting payments on time even if you submitt it to their site 2 days before the due date.  (search Juniper and you will see the numerous complaints on this) After their inticing 0 % rate is up, they use tactics to raise your rate with any means possible.

I was charged a late fee when my payment was not posted.  The rep finally agreed to waive the late fee, and the 1.25 interest that was posted because I did not pay the balance in full every month, but did that month by the due date, and she appoligized for the late posting.

I got a bill the next month, now it was up to over 45.00 dollars in fees and interest, and after another phone call, I found that the last rep did not waive the fee, and it is their policy not to waive the fees.  I refused to pay this, and was told to get a transcript of the previous conversation of waiving the fee, I would have to write to the company to get it.  I wrote to the company and no response, except for another statement with fee's for $75.00.

Ok, another added inconvenience, but I faxed another resquest for the transcript to no avail, and  now my bill was up to $95.00 in interest and late fees, with no response from the corporation.  After many lengthy phone calls with people in india who I could barely understand, except for them interrupting me with "Im sorry about this but....more scripted replies" I just paid the $95.00 and gave up.  Now I have a late payment on my credit report that I cannot remove and found that there was no recorded transcript on the record and no notes on my account about the original rep who said she would waive the late fee since I was never late.

Okay first you CAN NOT be reported late on your credit report unless you are at least 30 days late.  So if you are saying that you paid 1 Hour late(we will get to that in a minute), and they reported you 30 days late on your credit report.  That is against the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you can dispute it and have it removed.

You waited until your payment due date and it does not matter if it is 1 minute or 1 day after the cut-off time.  It is still considered late, and you may not think it was the next day.  But as far as they are concerned it is.  Fair or not that is in the terms you agreed to.  Had you made it 1 hour before it is still on the due date, but the late payment would be a non-issue(again we'll get into that as well).  Now, most of the time credit card companies will forgive the late payment fee the first time.  But this still depends on your overall history with them and it not guaranteed, especially if you have other "credit issues" such as being close to your limit.

You stated that you did not pay the minimum, but sent a hundred dollars.  I am hoping you meant you paid MORE than the minimum and not less, but based on the rest of your statements I feel that it might have been less.  Because if you paid less, then you did not make the minimum due and even if you did get it in before the cut-off time the late fee would stand.  So would the 30-Day late if you had not paid the minimum required for at least 30 days.

If you paid more and a single late fee and interest still put you over your limit then you were already in the "danger zone" by having a maxed out credit card.   You used this card by your own free will, they were not behind you forcing to use the card up to where you had.  In the end it was YOUR choice, regardless of what you feel your situation was or if you THINK you had to use it.   If you are having issues you may want to look in your area for Credit Counseling(not Debt Settlement)
