Complaint Review: Barondale Equity Group - Columbus Ohio

I received a call from this company from someone name Ann Tipton @ ext 420 stating that they had receive my application in regards for a business loan and that I was approved. She left the message and I call her back when I got to work because my mom thought it was important so she call and gave me the message immediately. When I called Ann back she was going into a meeting and ask if she may call me back, I told her I had a meeting to and will call her back as soon as possible. When I got off several hours later and called her she stated she was just finishing up with a client and had to give me a call back because she wanted my undivided attention. When I called her back she went over several piece of information including my birthdate, social security number and the loan amount and criteria. I can tell she must had pulled my credit report because she knew that I had gotten out of chapter 13 in April. She asked if I had any type of collateral like a vehicle. When I told her I had a 1999 ford expedition she said well lets see what its worth together. So she did whatever and said well since its 10 years old we cant do anything with that so I told her that I dont have anything else. She stated well im not going to decline you for that we have another option and read me a statement and then faxed me the loan documents.

I was curious about this part of the loan document which she had read me but seemed very different as I read it on the fax she sent stating under Security: Borrower does hereby agree to provide Lender with a prerequisite collateral payment of 6 monthly payments of 215.82 USD totaling 1294.92 USD in order to secure the Borrower's obligation due under this Agreement and agrees to execute all documents required by the lender to further establish this Agreement. The collateral payment stated herein does not act as a fee in anyway. In accordance with the applicable laws of the State of Ohio, the full amount of the collateral payment will be applied directly toward the principal of the loan.

That seems like I have to pay them 1294.92 dollars before I can get the 7000 dollars that just crazy who pays to get a loan. So i started looking the website up which is www.barondalegroup.com and it really doesnt give you any information on where the company is located or information on other people actually using this company so I check through the Better Business Bureau and they had nothing. So I did a phone check on the telephone number because when the fax came in it didnt show the number the fax was coming from just my number with *67 in front of it and that is used to block a number. I called the telephone company XO xommunications who the internet stated the phone number of 877-534-8647 but they told me they had no records of this number. So I used the fax number and they told me that came up under a company called J2 Global Communications. So when I call them they stated that the number was not with them neither one of them and the 877 number was not showing no where that it was someones number so the lady put me on hold and called the number and came back and stated that it rung and the voice stated that the company name was barondale group but no listing what so ever on number or who it belonged to. So I looked the address up and over 100 people had that address now im really sure to check this out and glad I am. I called 3 of the place that all stated they are either a 3 or 30 story high building and they have never heard of the company and 1 lady got the roster and stated that the business is not listed as being in the building. So I tried calling Ann Tipton back today and guess what number is disconnected. SCAMMMMMMMMM the address was 41 s. High Street, Columbus, Oh 43215 they used be careful
