When you sell something you do need buyers, but this deal sounds like a remote control deal. with very little control available to OP. Unless OP is originally from Brazil and knows "people" there. And can lay some juice on Jon Chilian. I know some people who flipped apartments in hot markets and ultimately wound up disappointed. Lets hope OP is truely happy with the "resolution".

The owner of Beachfront Brazil requests that I make the following statement: "Beachfront Brazil was able to get me a refund from the developer and the deposit was paid back to me in full. I am now satisfied and I have no more negative things to say about Beachfront Brazil or Beach Land Development. Also I would like to point out that I exaggerated earlier on some things I posted. Beachfront Brazil and its owners are NOT ripping anybody off and are also NOT involved in money laundering and they do NOT have an offshore bank account. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Got another email from Jon Chilian saying he did not see why he should have to pay me interest on the deposit. Someone send him to Finance 101 for some classes in the Time Value of Money. He also did not know that RipOffReport is Forever and can never be erased.

The merchant emailed me today to negotiate restitution. I proposed my terms - full refund plus interest at the prevailing Brazilian interest rate, and listing the apartments for sale making it a priority to get them sold. I await his response

The commission on the (non-)sale of the third apartment cost me: US$ 9700 The failure to fulfill his agreement to sell the other apartments cost me 1 year in searching for an agent to sell them, during which time I had to mortgage my home to maintain my cash flow, and borrow from my credit cards. Interest payments for this rip-off: US$ 24000 (mortgage) and US $24000 (credit cards) approximately. I now have to sell my home since I cannot sustain these mortgage payments, so I am estimating an emotional hardship value of US$ 50000, and a moving value of US$6000. The damage to my credit rating I estimate to have a net present value of US$30000 in additional interest charges I must pay over the next 7 years and damage to my reputation. Total compensation for Jon Chilian's damage to me financially due to Jon Chilian's failure to honor his agreements and his misrepresentation of the purchase agreenment is therefore: US$ 143700.
