Almost all dealers send EVERYONE the same letter, explaining that the "need" your used vehicle and will give you top dollar. It's all BS. All they are trying to do is sell you a new/newer vehicle. $419 for 72 months comes to $30,168, for a POS focus? Are they insane? For a cheap, little piece of crap that probably won't last 72 months. You talk about negative equity. You probably have some on the taurus and they were going to pile that on top of the price of the focus. You'll end up with negative equity on top of negative equity. No wonder the focus was going to cost you $30 grand. Keep the taurus, pay it off and drive it 'till the wheels fall off. Put the extra money you would have wasted on the focus, into a savings account, EACH MONTH, buy your next used car cash. Put the car payment you don't have, into the same account and just pay cash for your cars.
