Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I bought a house in Bessemer in 2001. What I don't understand is how my water and sewer bill have doubled in the past couple of years. There is only two people living in this house. I work full-time and my daughter is a full-tme student so no one is here all day except on the weekends.

We don't use much water, I don't water the grass, I don't wash my car, I have no leaks and my bill has doubled for no reason. I called and spoke to one of the customer service reps and she was awful...her attitude sucked. She offered to have my meter read again and told me I'd have to pay if there was nothing wrong with the meter.

I have yet to hear anything from the company. I just received this month's bill and it is higher than last month's. I called myself conserving water...I don't understand. If there are others in this situation, please report it because there is definitely some corruption going on.

I am looking to move as soon as I find a place outside of the Bessemer Utility cut-off. This should not be happening to hard working people like us. We are already struggling with these high gas and grocery prices. This is not the last you will hear from me!

The meter reading should be on your last bill. Go to your water meter and see if the numbers are actually higher than your last reading. Some time ago there was a meter reader in a our city who was caught "making up" meter readings after numerous complaints were filed with the city. It seems he was not actually reading people's meters at all, but was goofing off while on city time. Who knows, the same thing could be happening in Bessemer.
