I purchased a 2-set walkie talkie radio set the day after thanksgiving (door-buster deal), Nov 26th, 2003 with a $20.00 mail in rebate. The company is Columbia (Telecommunications Group, Inc.) and the Radios are model FRS-22SPR. I sent in all the rebates promptly and received a rebate check, I believe sometime in April 2004 (the check said check date of: 01-23-04, void after 03-23-04) even though it was mailed after the void date.

I deposited the check in my bank account hoping they would try to cash it. They did and sometime this week (today is: 05-07-2004) I received a notice from my bank that the check was returned because of NSF (Not Sufficient funds, from "the Bank of New York"). It has all the routing numbers on the back of the check showing it was routed all the way to Harrison, NEW YORK for payment and returned back to Wells Fargo of Denver, to be mailed back to me.

Thec check also has some information printed in the Notes / Memo section saying:

"Offer #: OCTG00001, Batch #: B0151866, Trn #:C7271054, Ctrl #:5668959"

Well Adam, I had a friend that also had the same problem with the Columbia radio's. Unfortunately, that particular fullfillment center is not offering any helpful solution on how to deal with this. They say they do not deal with the manufacturer anymore. I wil post more info shortly, any questions, please post them below.
