I spent over $2400 on new appliance at a local Best Buy in Feb., 2005.

The flyer and the salestaff assued me that I would qualify for roughly $140 in "Reward Zone" credits, I even had to purchase a membership in this program to qualify.

This rebate was due in 2 months. They later sent me blank e-mails announcing "HERE ARE YOUR REWARD ZONE CREDITS". I called and waited for weeks and they then sent me more blank e-mails with no credits or rebates. I offered to return the blank e-mails, (which I still have), but they would not provide me an e-mail address to send them to.

I called again and they asked me to switch my account to Mail instead of E-mail so they could mail the credits. I did this according the the service lady's instructions and was given a confirmation statement that my account was changed.

After waiting for 2 weeks with no mail from BestBuy, I called again, I was told that they would have to send my case into headquarters or somewhere to be reviewed and I would have to wait another 14 days. (The same things has happened 2 more times, and I have still received nothing.) I called again today (June 15) and they tell me again that they will have to send my case off for review again, which takes 10 days and then after that wait 2-4 more weeks, for a possible mailing of credits to my home.

Nobody at the main corp headquarters could solve this and they kept sending me back to the "Reward Zone Department", which only sends my case into a black hole.

I have patiently waited for months and they fail to solve this case, or even work on it as far as I can tell.

This is outrageous customer service!

I wish I had read your query before i sent to best buy. I bought $2000 plasma tv. was sold on the idea of a RewardZone card, which i did buy. I tried registering it online as instructed. They said my card with a serial number on the back was a fluke. it should not have been sold. They said they will have to either send me another one which takes 3 to 6 months or i could buy another one and they would transfer my points. I called eveyone just like you and got no satisfaction. The store manager should be responsible for what his store sells. if he allows a product to be sold that the consumers have a problem with, then he is at fault. Its been 3 months and i havent heard from them at all.

For the record, as of June 20 my mail box contained all promised rebates from Best Buy. I am not certain if this report helped or this was just a matter of timing.
