On 11-15-2009 I purchased a laptop from Best Buy in Plano Texas.
The salesman asked me if I wanted it optimized, I agreed and he pulled a box from under the counter, that had been opened and resealed by the Geek Squad. When I got home and began to use it I realized it had been used as a store model. All of the Best Buy store blockers and firewall settings were still in the computer. They used it as a FLOOR MODEL then sold it as a new computer After arguing with the manager for quite some time he agreed to take it back. He said I could call the corporate office and they could fax me a mailing label. I didn't want to drive 160 miles round trip for the return. The corporate office laughed at me and said ther was no one there that was going to send me the label. I called the store back. The manager refused to take my call. I hung up and called again using a different name and phone. He took the call and said I had to pay the shipping myself. So I sent it out UPS. It arrived back at the store 3 days after purchase. I requested a signature for delivery. The manager lied yet again. He refused issue the credit because he said," I received the box in a factory sealed condition." When in fact it had been opened and optimized and resealed by the GEEK SQUAD.
So Now I have no Laptop, I have no refund, And I'm out $909.27 for the computer and another $30.76 for the shipping.
I wonder if the manager just pocketed the cash? After all he's a chronic liar, it's not a big stretch to think he's a thief as well.

Of course the store firewall settings, etc, were in it! They need to connect to the internet to do the optimization. They do your windows updates, etc. You failed. Hard

I fail to see a ripoff here: you said you had agreed to purchase a Geek Squad optimized laptop.  How are they supposed to optimize it if they do not open the box?  Let me explain how this works.  Most Best Buy stores take half of their laptop stock and give it to the Geek Squad to be "pre-optimized."  This way, when a customer wants to have this work done, they can buy a pre-optimized laptop instead of having to wait several hours for a GS Agent to do it.  It is a convenience for the customer.

Could you be a little more specific about what led you to believe this was a floor model?  I am not sure what a "Best Buy Store Blocker" is.

I don't care if you believe or not.   I have physical evidence, and witnesses.  Obviously you don't know which manager it is. So why is your opinion important?  You could be him or his wife.
