I bought a camera at 299.99 on the 4th of July and they advertised the camera on 07/20/07 for $50.00 less . I went to get a price adjustment today only to be told its outside the 14 day exchange period so they would nothing . So I decided to call the best buy customer service and got the same answer -

I for one will never go to another buy and will not recommend their nast customer service and the the price adjustment policies. I have shopping at Best buy for 14 years and have seen their customer service go from bad to worse and their polcies are also following the same trend line. I was sold the camera under misinformation that resulted in me spending another 63.00 dollars at Amazon.com and now this is the last straw.

Its unbelievable the size of best buy would endager themseves in such practices because they only jeopardize their future custome base and sales -hope that they go out of business soon

Accusing a company of Fraud is serious. As such, you'd better have your facts straight and have positive proof of fraud, or you are asking for a lawsuit! Fraud is defined as: Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of Law - "1 a : any act, expression, omission, or concealment calculated to deceive another to his or her disadvantage; specifically : a misrepresentation or concealment with reference to some fact material to a transaction that is made with knowledge of its falsity or in reckless disregard of its truth or falsity and with the intent to deceive another and that is reasonably relied on by the other who is injured thereby." Since Best Buy has posted (in its stores and on its website) the policy regarding price adjustments, by definition, there cannot BE fraud. You're just upset that something you bought went on sale for a lower price than you paid and you didn't get your way when you went back into the store. This happens to everyone at one point or another. It's unavoidable. It happens. I suggest you remove the "Fraud" reference from your posts, chalk this up to a learning experience and realize (going forward) that sometimes things go on sale after you purchase it and you can't always get an adjustment.

The audacity for someone from the Comapany to file a rebuttal is simply beyond belief. They just sent me a survey about their customer service over the phone and at their stores-ironically I am on their consumer panel and I am positive that they are not going to be happy with the survey. I have taken necessary steps to insure that I will never be a victim of their fraudelent practices and hopefully people who have read my report will be armed with more questions than their associates are prepared to handle. Just being big doesnt mean arrogance and being mean to your customers and to truly know what customer service is to walk in any other big box store where a store Mgr is not hiding behind closed doors and is accessible to everyone. Straying from this policy will cause irreparable damage to the image not to mention a loss of trust amongst the people and the sales to go down. If the person from Best buy were smart they should be tracking down the person who has been so maligned by them with attitude and their stupidity and instead of trying to making amends and making sure that customers are treated fairly and in a satisfactory manner which is a win win situation for both is busy posting the attitude that I wrote about. Any reasonable person can see that only the most arrogant and stupid person from the company doesnt and wants to drag their name thru the mud, I shall be more than happy to keep this going so more people see the way they behave.

In order for it to be "hidden", wouldn't it have to not be visible? Directly from bestbuy dot com : Post-purchase conditions: Price match can be requested either by the person to whom the product was shipped or billed. Price match must occur between two products with the same model number. Item must be in stock at a store near you, as listed in our Store Locator, for price matching purposes. Clearance and open-box items are not eligible for price matching. Nor are special offers or promotions (such as mail-in incentives and gift-with-purchase offers), or services such as installation. We will refund 100% of the price difference (including tax) if an item purchased at BestBuy.com is advertised at a lower price at any of the customer's closest Best Buy stores within 30 days of original order date (must be within 14 days for desktop and notebook computers, projectors, monitors, camcorders, digital cameras and radar detectors). Online price matching must be completed by calling 1-888-BEST BUY (237-8289) we cannot process these requests in our stores or via e-mail. Seems pretty clear. In plain English. And available for all to see. By the way, it is also posted in the stores.

I hate to disagree with Bumble bee- bit all electronic companies have a 30 price match gurantee except That Best Buy doesnt inform their customers about it and there almost 900 complaints about pricing service and their credit policies . They are guilty of all these hidden practices. I am sure that you have a vested interest in Best Buy or you are living in a different country than I am . Regardless I will caution everyone beware buy you step into a best buy store and purchase something because they decieve and mislead you just to make the sale. They do not have a price advantage over anyone else and niether do they adhere to own better consumer practices. I will continue to spread the word . One person can make a diferrence.

Companies in general do NOT have to offer ANY type of Price guarantee. Companies who do are helping the customer and ussually hurting themselves. I am sure the associates you dealt with were just telling you the honest truth, maybe they were too blunt or honest, but the reason companies won't change their price or GIVE BACK MONEY to customers after 14 days is because if its any longer they would never make any profit. I am sure you enjoyed the camera and had some fun with it, it sucks to have the price get adjusted to go on sale a few weeks later but thats life.
