Bestnest.com Maui self contained waterfall list price $1,369.99, plus $500.00 for shipping Cincinnati, Ohio
I recently ordered the Maui self contained waterfall from Bestnest.com for $1,369.99 plus $500.00 shipping. The waterfall arrived within two weeks and appeared to be in good condition. When I hooked it up and filled it with water and turned it on, it began to leak. I rechecked all my hoses and fittings everything looked good.
After elevating it on chairs, I was able to find the leaks and I contacted the company. They were polite and respectful and eager to help. They told me that they would contact the manufacturer and see if they could send me a repair kit for the fiberglass basin. I was told that if I returned the mountain I would have to pay shipping for return and shipping for the new mountain ($1000.00 total). I told them that I could probably repair it myself but I felt that they should compansate me at least the $500. for shipping.
That was the last I heard from them. It has been two weeks since our their last e-mail and a month since I recieved the waterfall and still no word. I have since found all the leaks, repaired the mountain on my own and got it working. I am very disappointed in this company, they should have at least tested their product before shipping, and had the decency of refunding my shipping costs for all my trouble. I never heard from the original manufacturer. I could have stopped payment, but then I would have to spend $500.00 to return the item and I would have been out a total of $ 1000.00 (in shipping charges) for nothing.
I feel that I should at least warn others from dealing with this company and to beware of this product from other vendors, unless they tell you that they have tested it and garantee it functionality with a full refund (including your shipping charges). If I would not have been handy and able to fix it, I would have been out at least $1869.99.
I am sorry that I did not first come to Rip Off Report web site and check this company, they already have two complaints against them.
