BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM ripoff, bait and switch, charge more than you agreed to BROOKLYN New York
There are tons of horror stories from victims of this ripoff company all over the internet, so mine is not an isolated case. I bought a camera thru them at what I thought was the advertised price of $359. Then they called me back and asked if I wanted a battery with that for an extra $99. Well, since the camera is no good without the battery I agreed. Then I see the hit on my Visa and it is for $575!!! Where did the extra cost come from???
I called to cancel but they lied to me and said it had already been shipped - but when I finally got a tracking number I saw that it didn't ship until the next week AFTER I had called!!! So I called back and said I wanted to return it and they said I could only get an RMA# if I signed a waiver agreeing to pay them $175 as a cancellation fee!!! What a total scam!!!!
I am going to send the camera back unopened but I have probably just lost $575. And it is pretty hard to get your money back from Visa on something like this. I guess it's a $575 learning experience. Next time before I buy I will go to the internet and type in the company name[space] scam. If I had done that first I would have saved myself $575!!!
