I responded to a Craigslist ad (atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/5542569212.html) on April 22 2016 for a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD pickup truck. Ad said one owner, good condition 175000 (approx) miles on truck. When I spoke with him on phone he told me that he was the original owner, and that it had low miles for the year and he had recently had all brakes repaired.
I should have got a CARFAX report before I bought it but didn't until two days later. My bad. Turns out that there were 6 previous owners, a lemon recall from state of Florida and more than 320000 miles reported. The brakes were dangerously bad and though truck looks decent the motor has major leaks, no oil drain plug (temporary one installed).
I advise getting CARFAX before buying.
I also advise avoiding this dealer as telling the TRUTH seems like it would put him out of business.
