Everyone rents from Blockbuster. Not everyone has or will notice their "2-Day rental" on NEW movies is a d**n rip-off and fraud.

First, when you rent a new release, it's $3.95 for the "2-days". If, for some reason, it's not returned in their "2-day time frame" (I'll get to that next), the customer is charged ANOTHER $3.95. Even if it's 2 hours late!!

Not just 2 hours late, meaning you've rented it for 50 hrs.

A 2-day rental should be 48 hours, 2 days, each day being 24 hours long. Simple ? Not if you check out Blockbusters "2-day" rental.

I rented a new video, for 2-days. I rented it on a Friday night @ about 9pm. I returned it on Sunday @ around 3pm, which is 6 hours shy of 48 hours.

I had the video only 42 hours which is NOT 2 days. BUT, their (Blockbuster's) 2-day rental, menas to them, the movie must be back the third day by NOON! I had to have that video back by noon on Sunday, not 3pm. but I was thinking "2-DAY RENTAL" 48 frickin' hours !!

I was charged an additional $3.95. How many other customers get caught in this little money making fraud ?

If only 5000 customers nationwide returned a video late by their rules of a 2-day rental... that's friggin $19,750 !!!

How often does this happen a week ? twice maybe ? Different people ? Now you're looking at $40,000 a week !

THAT'S a rip-off !

You are warned of due date five times

I am a former BBV employee. When you rent a video, there are about five different places for you to find out when your video is due. The cashier should tell you once- usually the person that hands you your videos will tell you, too. There is a time schedule on the box, and one on the register, there is a sign on the door on the way out and it is printed very clearly on your receipt. There is no excuse for not knowing when your video is due! The due date and time is sitting right in front of you in the store, on your receipt and on the video case itself. It's everywhere! How can we be blamed if you don't even try?

Dear sir, Last week I went to the local blockbuster. I rented several items and had a coupon for one. I was one hour late and having experienced this once before didn't return the merchandise because i was already charged for another week. The rental fee was something around $9.85 with the coupon but upon calling them to ask how much the fine was they had charged me for the item i used the coupon on. The bill was now over $16.00. As a consumer do not return the merchandise if you are already late. They rent it to you automaticly for however long the first rental period was. So basicly if you are past noon whenever you will have to rent everything again even if you are done with the merchandise
