BLOCKBUSTER VIDEO Violated privacy policy / Rented out thousands of dollers in merchandise to unknown under my account ripoff Phoenix Arizona
In 2002 I started getting late notices for rentals, I immediately went to the store were it all started. I was told by the supervisor "I remember the guys who rented it was not you". He told me to speak to the district manager, I called him up, he apologized and told me not to worry about a thing that he would take care of everything. A month went by and I kept getting late notices from like 15 different locations. The charges added up to over $3,000. I called the district manager again and at this point he denied telling me he would take care of it, he told me it was me making all those rentals and told me to stay out of his stores. I went to 5 stores to try to get more answers, at one of the stores the manager accused me of working there, so I went and faced him he apologized and said he tought I was a guy who used to work there. This tells me the person that commited the fraud is a BB ex employee.
I got tired of trying to prove my innocence, I just let it go. Now about a year and a half later, I got a call from a collections agency. I sent a complaint to AZ's district atty. To everyone stay away from Blockbuster they give criminals a big opportunity to commit fraud against their customer's then they try to blame you for their mistake of not taking the precautions of checking who the heck they are renting to.
