Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Made a deal over the phone with this company for a truck that we saw listed on their website. The original deal was to include delivery to the halfway point between us. Once the deal was finalized we were then told that they "didn't realize" how far we actually were from them, and that they were no longer willing to deliver to this location, but one a few hours closer to them. We hesistantly agreed to the new meeting place, but since it would require us to stay overnight (7-8 hour drive for us), we asked them to cover the cost of our hotel. They agreed and said that they would reimburse us $100 for the hotel and would mail out a cheque to us after the fact. It has been a month and no cheque has come in the mail yet. That $100 is the least of our problems, though. We wanted to buy the truck out upfront, but after speaking with the salesperson and trying to get a deal, he told us they actually don't like selling outright and that we would get a better deal if we financed the vehicle. We were open to the idea of financing if it could get us a better deal. He told us that even with financing, we could pay the truck off instantly with no fees. So, we thought, what the heck - let's finance it and get a better price, then just pay it off right after (got $3000 off). When working out the financing, we asked that the truck be registered to our business (it was being purchased as a company vehicle). The finance manager told us that it would be a "big hassle" to put the sale through the business and instead convinced us to put it in my husbands name. When we went to get insurance for the vehicle through our business, our insurance broker told us it could not be done properly with the truck being in my husbands name. We would have to transfer the ownership at the MTO to the business name (which we did, and involved HOURS at the MTO office, hundreds of dollars in fees and new plates, and an emissions test). "Less hassle" to put it in my husbands name? Yeah, for the dealership! It was a HUGE hassle for us to get this changed. Then the dealership tells us that most of the warranties they convinced us to add would not be carried over if the truck was put into the business name at the MTO. They were "personal policies" for my husband only. The truck HAD to be insured properly, so I guess we are losing out BIG TIME on these warranties that we are paying for, for nothing. All because this couldn't be done through the business like it should have been in the first place. Surely they have other companies buying BUSINESS VEHICLES? More of our money lost. The payments were also set up to come out of my husbands personal bank account instead of the business account. We were assured that it just had to stay like this until one payment went through, and then we could "easily" change the account that the payments come out of to the business account. Tried doing this with TD Auto Finance and they will NOT change the account to a different name than what the truck was registered to by the dealer. When we got the truck, it only came with one key fob. The dealer said that they never received a second key from the rental company that they purchased the truck from. Since we had the "Platinum" Vehicle Armour warranty, we would be entitled to key replacement if lost. The dealer wrote on our Vehicle Armour that we received 2 keys, and asked US to go through the claim process to get the new key (it would be "no problem!") When we called Vehicle Armour to put the claim in for a new key, they told us that they need confirmation from the dealer we bought the truck from that they have "deactivated" the old key. They never HAD the old key to deactivate, though. Now Vehicle Armour is giving us the runaround on getting a new key. I am still waiting for calls back about this (this was the icing on the cake after all of the above, and what lead me to write this report!) EVERYTHING that we were told would be "easy to deal with later!" has been nothing but a nightmare to deal with, and in MOST cases, not even possible to do! While thankfully we are very happy with the truck itself, we are not happy at all with the trouble we have had to go through to get this vehicle properly insured and paid for by our company. It should have been registered to the company from the beginning. We have not yet "attempted" to pay the vehicle out yet, but I can only imagine the "surprises" that are yet to come. We have lost thousands of dollars already and are not pleased. The finance manager should have a better understanding of how and why company vehicles are registered like they are. I was told by a friend that works at another dealer that the salesmen do not get the same commission when selling vehicles commercially as they do when they sell them personally. I can only guess this is why we were put through all this mess!
