I attended the Go Pro networking meetings where Bob Katz presented the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new networking group in Phoenix and that I would have exclusive membership rights to the location at Copper Star Bank. The group was lightly attended, never producing more than a few people and then completely fizzled. To this day, Bob Katz represents a membership of a few people but there are none. The whole scheme is devised to collect non-refundable membership fees on the website and provide nothing in return. I was offered attendance at another location where I would only be a guest and have no exclusivity which is why I signed up in the first place. Bob Katz is incapable of sustaining a networking group and has never produced a successful networking group at Copper Star Bank.

Perhaps Brian T. should read my report again. I don't doubt there are successful business networking groups in existence, this was definitely not one of them. There were promises made and they were not delivered. I have been a salesman my whole life and I never lied to anyone to make a sale. The group I paid money to attend NEVER got off the ground, NEVER had more than a few (3-4) people attend and only lasted a few (3-4) weeks. My money was not refunded and the group ended. Here we see both the risk of doing business with Go Pro which I take responsibility for, after all I lost money and the risk associated with being in the networking business, taking peoples money, not delivering on promises and not refunding anything. It just might end up on a website like Rip Off Report.

I attended a Go PRO meeting on March 18, 2010 as a guest. There were plenty of members in this group, 17-18 members total, counting no-shows. I was a guest and another guest was in attendance. I actually knew one of the members and was not aware they were a member of the group. It gave me a chance to reconnect with that member as a former client of mine. That member also gave testimonial in regards to my services and helped to establish my reputation within the group as a guest.
Immediately following the meeting I began discussion with a member that could result in direct business.
Look, you can place the rip-off label on a lot of things that involve a certain degree of risk, especially when they dont go your way but I did not get the feeling Bob Katz and Go Pro were there to take my money and run.
In my opinion this is an affordable and legitimate business networking organization. The fees are reasonable and it gives me access to a small and focused group of business professionals that are here to help me grow my business as well as access to other GO PRO groups in my area and a few states outside of Arizona.
It's a shame that Ripoff report will take one comment or opinion and post it with the tile Ripoff as if to agree with the poster, especially as prominently as these comments tend to turn up in Google results. If you're interested in Bob Katz or joining Go PRO please take the time to meet Bob and visit a group location before taking Scott's opinion as gospel on the subject.
This is business networking. You get out of it what you put in and there is always a degree of risk involved when you join a networking group. Just make sure you believe in the group and its direction before you commit to a non-refundable fee.
