I know you only here the negative and I want to post the other side of something like this. For starters companies like Bob Wilson Dodge get paid to fix an engine as such if under warranty. We would love nothing more than to get the hours from Chrysler to perform a complete engine rebuild. So there is no motivation to not repair the vehicle. Only motivation is when they send the samples of the oils into the lab at Chrysler it will show sludge and the break down. Fact: Faulty oil pumps do not cause sludge. They can cause a motor to loose pressure and possilbe sieze up. Fact: Sludge is caused by not changing your oil. This is the only thing. There have been engine designs that would have deposits where old oil would accumulate and getting sludge in those areas. However this is not the situation here. The 2.7 Liter V-6 Chrysler engine had this issue but none of the truck engines had this. Fact: You need to keep your receipts of your maintenance so warranties will be honored. Most shops these days do keep records of repairs and maintenance. No one needs to tell you this, that is common sense. Ignorance is not a plea. I am convinced this Engine should not of been repaired under warranty and that the correct desicion was made.
