The Boro of Keansburg is Ripping people off by Raising taxes on home that are not and do not match the appraisels of the homes they are billing including town water bills that cost 6000 families $199.00 per quarter whether you use water or not.
The Home I live in was market appraised as a $125,000 home to a $150,000 home due to the rundown and out of business businesses in our small community.
According to the Town my home is worth $245,000 and in the last 18 months my taxes have gone from $700 a quarter to $1,200 at a charge period of every Two Months instead of a full quarter. I did call Monmouth County and spoke with a representative from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office at a meeting with other neightbors at my home since I have heard nothing from six months plus ago.
Our Water is not coming from our wells as told to us and other communities around us are paying up to 75% less per quarter then we do. We have seen older people coming from town offices due to being told if they don't pay the over $200 bills for their homes they will be turned off.
Everyone moved here to live in a nice community since three years ago it's turned into a money making machine and people are just leaving their keys on their counters and walking away from their homes. We all pay mortgages and insurances which are figured by the town appraisel so our mortgages, insurances, and more have doubled in the last Two Years.
Elections in Twon are all fixed and you really cannot vote in them since you are told there is elections less then a week before the election. We have all been told by people who have lived here all their lives ( and now gone ) that the town is being run by others then the Town counsel and people that have tried to stabilize the town have been harrased and run out of office.
If something is not done as a re-appraisel, and a roll back of 6000 or more false water bills I'm peobably going to leave my bank my home also. Why don't the State come in and open the water Lids in our front lawns and see if the numbers they print on our bills for useage match, and why do we have to pay for services we have nothing to do with.
I can say a ton more but someone will probably blow my home up if I say more, get on this one, bring in the Media my doors open to help my community. And in closing all the rosey reports you read in the Asbury Park Press never address the problems or the Truths in the town so don't get your info there.
