This goes for ALL DEBT COLLECTORS!Debt collectors such as Boyajian,NCO etc.(Those 2 are the worst criminals).However ANY and EVERY DEBT collector can do NOTHING to you!They lie,cheat,threaten etc.They have ZERO power and just make empty threats.As mentioned above if they had any power,there would be NO need to call or CON you.Technically you can even owe 100,000 dollars and they still canNOT do anything.So do not worry about those lying,CON-ARTISTS.If you get something in the mail just throw it in the garbage.If they call you, hang up on those losers.Again please read what Steve said, he is 100% accuratte.It is a shame many good people still fall for these SCAM/CON ARTISTS otherwise known as DEBT COLLECTORS.NCO and Boyajian are among the WORST.

What Steve and the other person replied is correct, if by chance you wrote on the check PAID IN FULL, in many states its illegal for a collection agency to sell the balance, even if they cross it out Pa. is one of these states. Once a creditor deposits or cashes a full paymnt check, even if they strike out the words payment in full or write "I don't agree" on the check, they can't come after you for the balance. in certain states. Anytime a collection agency, contacts you over the phone, before you make any agreement have them send proof that there is a debt and they can legally collect it.

It's unfortunate that you actually paid Boyajian and hopefully you have copies of cancelled checks or credit card statements to prove it, because it's likely not going away this easily. And you'll never get anything from Boyajian as per notifying the credit bureaus. remember, they're in the business of collecting money, not helping you, the consumer. They lied to you over the phone when they said they would do this, all because they wanted you to pay. I can't state it any more plainly than that. This issue is likely not over, since Boyajian will probably sell your account to someone else and you'll have to prove that you paid it. Definitely think about consulting a lawyer and the state AG. If you'd only read this site before dealing with Boyajian.....:(
