I hired Boyd Roofing in Burleson, TX to recover my grandmother's patio. With the recent wind, heavy rain and hail that came with many of our Texas storms, I really thought she needed it to be done by a professional, especially at her age. After considering many options, I decided I want to shop locally. Boyd Roofing is not only local but I also have a tie to them as I went to High School with the wife of the owner of the company. That made me feel safe using them. That and the fact that they told me they had been in business for over 10 years. I have posted the pics of the finished product. The pics clearly show the following: * Holes in the patio cover * Screws are visibly sticking out * There are shingles ripped from the base of the roof that were not replaced * The wood post in the center of the patio is not bolted down There are several other issues but those are the ones that are clearly presented by the photos. The first rain after the work was done, the roof leaked. This is particularly concerning because there is an electric fan in one of the heavily-leaking spots. The job was started April 20th and finished April 23rd. The work was paid for in full. I have attempted to contact them since the job was "finished". The only response I've received is from the wife: "I'm sorry I've been busy we are going out of town tomorrow morning. He will hey (sic) back with you I promise, it takes time. Your gma did say she was happy with the work before she paid Rusty. But he will get back with you." I have a screenshot of this too. This is a 79-year-old woman and a widow of a Vietnam Vet. I can safely say she knows very little about roofing, which is why a professional was hired. I really don't want to have to pay another roofer to come out and fix what has been done but I can't really afford to wait while the person I contracted is refusing to respond. I would appreciate any and all feedback while I consider my options.
