I was contacted on August 17, 2017. A Michael Evans sent me an email, stating that if I didn't pay the amount owed ($1250) by August 31, 2017, that my account would be filed with the Judicial Circuit Court of the United States of America. I contacted him to make arrangements for a payment plan. This has gone back and forth with several emails being exchanged.

Last week, he notified me that I would have to give him my Debit card information. Luckily for me, I did not have one. The bank had cancelled it due to fraudulent use by someone else. I told him this. He gave me another extension until September 23, 2017.

Then he notified me that I would have to send him a copy of the front and back of my debit card (after I had received my new one), a copy of my drivers license, and a promissory note, stating my payment installment plan. I told him I had no way to do that. He emailed me and stated that there was no way to keep my account out of court.

Today, it finally clinks in my stupid head, that this might be a scam. I go online to look up Briggs Law Firm, to contact them about this person, and my account. Imagine that the first thing under this search was SCAM. So here I am filing my report. I hope you can stop these people.

Thank you

Joni

Joni, I just ran across your post about "attorney" A. Michael Evans.  It's a scam.  No attorney would proceed this way.  If you were really required to appear in court you would receive a notice from the court,  assuming they know your address.  There is no such thing as the "Judicial Circuit Court of the United States of America".

Please, do yourself a favor, and ignore this guy.  Do not spend another second worrying about this.  100% scam.  Unlike Mr. Evans, I am an attorney.  At this point, if you send this guy a dime, only you are to blame.  If I were you, I would block this guy or identify his email address as spam so you won't have to see any more of his emails and get upset over nothing.

Now he has sent me an email. Due to my "habitual offence", charges will be filed against me by September 27th, and an arrest warrant will be issued. Is this part of the scam? Or is this a legitimate email?
