I agree with "burned by charmglow" I purchased a brinkman pro series 2200 gas grill on May 8, 2004 at a Walmart store. They clearly emphasized the fact that it had 3 cast iron burners as one of the selling features. The owner's manual on the warranty page clearly shows die cast parts --lifetime, electronic ignition and burners--10 years remaining parts--1 year.

I did have a problem after about 6 months with the electronic igniter, called them and they sent a new replacement-no problem at all.

However, 2 weeks ago, I began having problems with what seemed like a burner. I took the grids out to look at the burners and they were all rusteds, flaking apart, and generally deteriorated. (cast iron should not fall apart in my opinion) I called Brinkman and asked about this "10 year" coverage on the burners and the man told me that this warranty did not cover "normal" wear such as corrosion and rust.

I do not feel that I should be forced to purchase 3 new burners for my grill. I think they are dishonest in saying they use cast iron burners when they are apparently made of something else that doesn't last like cast iron.

Overall, the grill has performed very well over the past 4 years and I really like it but I'll think long and hard before I purchase another Brinkmann product. Buyer BEWARE!!!!

After filing my report, I composed an email to Brinkmann and notified them of my complaint to ripoffreport.com. Within 3 hours of my email, Brinkmann contacted me by email to tell me that they would be sending me the burner parts I needed for my grill as a "one time shipment". The parts arrived 3 days later and I'm happy to report that my grill is fixed and back in good condition again. Thank you Brinkmann. I still feel that you need to look at your policy on your warranty. Cast iron burners should not fall apart so rapidly as mine did.
