I purchased a European male Dobermann from Britton Farms. My family and I have been nothing but satisfied. He is in magnificent health and the Vet is extremely impressed with this great specimen. There is a certain amount of risk you take no matter where you go. I would stand behind Britton Farms and my choice to work with them anyday.

I have researched Doberman breeders for over 15 years of my life and have had my share of bad experiences. Even to the extent of having a full grown trained European dobies shipped from Serbia, which did not workout. I finally contacted a breeder in El Paso Tx that didn't have litters available for over 2 years. This breeder referred me to Britton Farms Dobermans and highly recommended them. I purchased my First dobies from Britton 4 years ago and couldn't be happier. We have a small ranch where we hold weddings, grad parties, retirement parties, etc. of up to 400 people and my dobies run free after the formal portions of the events are over. They have become local celebrities and everyone just loves our dogs. We have since purchased two more dogs for a total of 3 dobies from Britton farm dobies. Unfortunately when purchasing full breed dogs not just dobies, health risks are higher than adopting or purchasing a mixed bred dog. As humans we all have our ups and downs with health problems and dogs can be no different. It's unfortunate that you have had bad luck with the pup you have purchased and my apologies for your misfortunes. I on the other hand have visited his facilities over half a dozen times and was amazed and how much time he puts into caring for his dogs how much his dogs love the family back. He has a sweet daughter that is probably 6-7 years old by now and she helps out so much. I believe she helps with the dogs temperaments with children in the dogs future as well. All three of my dogs are doing phenomenal and are great around people. He has developed a healthier way to tape up ears that lower the risk of ear infections and is constantly trying to help the Doberman cause. I rate Britton Farms Dobermans an A class organization and family! Sincerely, Satisfied customer of 4 years!

First of all, my heart goes out to you after reading everything you've been through with your dog. Unfortunately, you aren't the only one to fall victim to Britton Farms. My parents paid a total of $4500 for a pup and had him shipped from Texas to Wisconsin. At first, all seemed well but then after about 6 months, Boss startred exhibiting minor health problems. First we noticed that on several occasions, one of his eyes would be extremely dialated while the other stayed normal. It's happened several times over the course of the year he's been with my parents but up until now, it hadn't caused enough of a problem for them to worry. Fast forward to now.
In the last year, he's had the eye issue plus he developed juvenile cellulitis which is a skin condition (much like acne in a human) and developed bumps all over his back that my parents are in the process of investigating. The results of the skin scrape should be in early next week but that's not the worst part...yesterday he went to the vet to have his hips and elbows x-rayed as is typical with young dogs. My parents were blindsided by the heart breaking news that Boss is suffering from hip dysplasia. I've seen the x-rays myself and even if you had no idea what to look for, the dysplasia is obvious. Boss was supposed to be a Shizund dog and ungergo extensive agression training.
My Father also had hopes of him becoming a stud dog because of the "superior genetics" he was supposed to have. Now none of that can ever happen and the entire family is devastated. Contact has yet to be made with Britton Farms but I can only imagine what bullshit he'll come up with although I'm sure we'll probably get the same story you did. It's so wrong and so unfair to the dogs who have no control over their genetics and are made to suffer because of greedy heartless breeders like this. I hope more attention will be paid before more dogs suffer the same fate as ours. Good luck to you my friend.
