Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have attended this "school" since January. So far it has been a downhill battle. This school offers no instruction from teachers. You get a 5 page slideshow that sometimes works as an instructional piece. other times it wont even work. You ask teachers and student services for assistance, and on the last day of class a teacher will offer tutoring once all your assignments have been graded. As you progress on, you will get generic answers to your questions you ask, the dean will not speak to you unless you threaten with suing them.

You find out there is no tutoring services unless you live in Phoenix AZ. If you ask too many questions, you will find you will get marked down for unreasonable things, and fail a class. You pay for the same books two times and the school costs 3 times more than a real one you go in and sit down at. Even had a student services personell take my personal information, call me at home all hours of the night and email me nude pictures. I find it was a waste of my time, was unable to accomplish anything and came out in debt due to it. Some of their credits are even non transferable

As someone who has worked with these people, many at the Phoenix campus have no respect for the current Director of Admissions. The COO was let go from Brookline College because he confronted the current Director of Admissions over his lack of performance and the Director of Admissions got confrontational with the COO. Mommy found out and the COO gets fired.

I was a former on campus Brookline student at campuses in both Albuquerque and in Tempe and let me tell you something, you wasted not only your time but your money too. Your degree from here will get you no where. I got out of this school after being severely mistreated due to having a medical problems, I was politely encouraged to leave. Their instructors on campus barely have the credibility to have a library card let alone teach. My advice, find another school and fast, i did and now I am very happy.

I could not agree more with all that is said, Recently the new director of admissions, who comes to us from the bankrupt Ultimate electronics retail store got the job because MOMMY works att he corporate office.
The job required a college degree and other exp, but if mommy works here you get any high paying job she can find for you!   This TV salesman, doesn't know the first thing about admissions or a college.
And, David, Kotila we are researching the degree you say you have from ASU.  Funny they have no record of you graduating......

As a student and ex admin rep, Brookline is only concerned about money and getting their students through the financial aid process.

Recently, like in the last month, the hired a corporate execs son to be admin director. David Kotila, Hes less than 27 with no college degree or experience, yet mommy got him a high paying job. The recruitment for this job required a college degree but I guess his retail experience trumped the education requirement.

Since his hire we've lost numerous reps and other administrative personnel because this kid knows nothing about Brookline, the education process or history.

The students deserve better, the staff deserves better.

Brookline corporate...Shame on you.

The student is encouraged to discuss these matters with the college rather than to "carry on" in a forum.  Should the student decide to contact us; we will make every effort to resolve her concerns.

Funny how after this was filed my grades were all changed to passing......

How is the company sure their employees are not using students personal information for personal use? I was told that this employee had access to my social security number, phone number, address, and email.

I prove my point with how all the answers are answered with generic answers. Not one of those had a reasonable response. I understand I don't get a bill for the books, but isn't it weird I have two of the same book and they probably charged it to a student loan or financial aide when I could have just used the same book again. I have emails showing I have attempted to contact student services several times. I even called them 7 weeks in advance to let them know I was no longer going to attend their school, contacted several employees including financial aide, student services (2 seperate people) after the end of the financial aide year. They would not give me a response on where to send my withdrawl form, who else I may need to talk too, or any other information. When I called and left a message that I had received MORE books and emails stating I was still enrolled, I then got a response from new student services employee who stated they knew nothing of my withdrawl and didn't understand my problem.

I also was told to not contact other students in the course (by the instructor) and not to have study groups...where are we supposed to learn when our teacher wont teach, the "teaching tools" dont work unless you use programs not supported by the school, and teachers dont give feedback?

Yes, online is supposed to be a independant study, but why are they paying teachers to teach the course then? Why do they say a "classroom" for the main forum, and why is there an Instructor office? I figured Teachers would help teach, and we could talk to other students. Then to find out that the school had a "problem" with their test, none of the students answers were saved, and the teacher threatens to "guess" a Grade for the student. Nice...

Response from Brookline College

Claim: This school offers no instruction from teachers.  You get a 5 page slideshow that sometimes works as an instructional piece. You ask teachers and student services for assistance, and on the last day of class a teacher will offer tutoring once all your assignments have been graded.

Response:  As an online student, students have access to the online classroom.  Within this classroom students interact with their teachers using four main tools:  1) an asynchronous threaded discussion tool, 2) email, 3) office hours by appointment (which allows them to speak directly with an instructor), and 4) a Virtual office.  The virtual office is an area where students can post questions and/or review instructor answers to commonly raised questions by classmates. Importantly, unlike a ground-based classroom, the primary mode of instruction in Brookline Colleges online coursework is the learning material within each course.  Instructor interaction is aimed at reinforcing key concepts and answering questions.  The Colleges student learning management systems shows quite clearly that its instructors interact with students within all recorded areas within the classroom, including the virtual office, threaded discussions and grade books.

Claim: As you progress on, you will get generic answers to your questions you ask, the dean will not speak to you unless you threaten with suing them. If you ask too many questions, you will find you will get marked down for unreasonable things, and fail a class.

Response:  Contact information for the Colleges student support services is posted in each course as a standard landing page.  Our records indicate that students who reach out to student support services are assisted by College staff promptly and completely. In the event a student feels otherwise, they are encouraged to use the student appeal/grievance policy to ensure a thorough review of their situation and/or concern.  Further, Brookline College does not permit reprisals of any kind being undertaken by any member of the School.

Claim: You pay for the same books two times and the school costs 3 times more than a real one you go in and sit down at.

Response:  Textbooks are issued before the course start date for each course.  Additionally, the cost of textbooks is included in the total program cost (per the tuition and fee information disclosed in the catalog supplement), which means a student does not pay separately for textbooks within a program of study.

ClaimEven had a student services personnel take my personal information, call me at home all hours of the night and email me nude pictures.

Response:  There is nothing to substantiate this inflammatory claim and no record that any such activity has ever been reported to anyone at the College.  Regardless, the College requires all faculty, students and staff to abide by its code of conduct, which forbids this type of activity.

Claim: Some of their credits are even non transferable

Response:  The Colleges policy on credit transfer to another school is outlined in our College Catalog.  The College Catalog is made available to each student upon enrollment and accessible throughout a students program of study via the Colleges web site.  In addition, this policy is explained to each student and attested to by each via a signed acknowledgement of this disclosure.
