Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Since I have lived here at Farmbrook Manor, I have seen about four different people in charge of the rental office. The person who runs it now is named Angela Ledford, and I have never seen such a surly person. She doesn't keep track of when you pay the rent and keeps putting you in to go to court if you are a few days behind paying the rent.

The lawyers depend on her to tell them about the tenants here, so she gets to call the shots, whether or not she is telling the truth is another thing altogether. If she doesn't like you, she will do everything in her power to get you evicted.

Last month, she sent me a summons for me to go to court because my rent was supposedly late, but I had paid her and made her sign the money orders. I do this because no matter how you pay her, she seems to get convenient amnesia when it's time to go to court. I think she is keeping all of the money we have to pay in legal fees or something. It's almost like she is looking for people to 'set up' to go to court so we get shafted paying legal fees.

I used to put my payments in the drop box, but she will post your rent late and insist that it was you. I showed her the date I bought the money order for my rent which was before the closing date and she still sent me a quit notice.

I have been trying to get a telephone number for the people over her to no avail. There are no published numbers for Brookline Management, so these people they put in charge of their properties get to work willy nilly because there is not way to call their bosses and hold them responsible for their surly service.

I would appreciate any information about Brookline Management, I'm moving into my new home soon, but I will still pursue these crooks until I talk to someone from their company.

Ok first off let me tell you I do not work for Brookline I never have nor will I ever. I am not going to give out the name of the complex I work for or the company. However it is no where near you. I used to live in Sterling Heights so I am curious what complex you live in. I work and live in West Michigan now, and I have recived many complaints about Brookline. One of their properties is right down the road from mine. About two years ago the owners of Brookline were ordered by a judge in the city I manage in, to refurbish the whole complex so it was up to code. And until that was complete the owner was to live in the worst unit on site. As the inspectors inspected one building they had a punch crew taking off the new parts and installing them on the other buildings that had not been inspected yet. They dont pay their employees or their vendors on time at all. Now in your first complaint you stated that you were late and she sent you to court, now your saying its her fault and she lost the money order. Ok I have a sense to believe you, however you changed your story, and mistakes do happen. With all the things this manager might be going through with vendors calling, no paycheck and the housing commision on her tail she might have had an oversight. I AM NOT MAKING AN EXCUSE FOR HER. As I said before document everything, send your rent payments certified so she has to sign, or have her sign a reciept everytime you go in. I give out reciepts to whomever wants them. Also you are entitled to a copy of your resident file if you ever want one. So you might want to get a copy of that. Take pictures before you move have her sign something when you turn in your keys. If you dont have a statement or your $ within 30 days from move-out you get double back per Michigan state law. I would like to know what complex it is you live at. And also why if I was an employee would I be helping you?? I can't stand Brookline I am a good manager and treat all my residents well with respect and dignity. Which if she is not doing the same for you. There could be a huge Fair Housing Law Suit you could file.

I appreciate your response, I consider myself to be a resident because I have lived here for over three (3) years with no problems paying my rent. I'm sure you know from your experience that problems don't get to renew their lease two times in a row. You get to renew your lease when you aren't a problem. I have seen two other property managers come and go with no incident or eviction threats. As far as the payment goes, I ended up going to court because the property person does not post the rent payments on time. I got in this mess because the property person says she did not get my money order before the 3rd of January. She even told me that my rent was caught up in February. Also, at the beginning of this month my friend moved in here and wrote my name on his application and told them twice that I referred him to our complex. Somehow, I didn't get credit for that until I told her about it.... BTW, which complex are you with? OR are you just saying you are with another complex but are REALLY with Brookline. My story DOES have a happy ending, I am paid up as of today, technically tomorrow, because I won't be able to give them the MONEY ORDERS until they open up tomorrow morning.

First off let me say, I know Brookline is a low company. You should document everything, I am a property manager of a relativly large complex. And it makes me real mad when someone says well I am gonna be a little late don't send me to court. I for one will tell you if you were my tenant (not resident) you become a tenant when you become a problem. It is our job to evict you if you dont pay. So dont cry wolf because she takes you to court because your late. You signed a lease now live up to your word and abide by it. Why would we as managers loose our job which may lead to loosing our home because you cant pay your rent ontime. I have heard every excuse in the book and so has she. Now I am not saying your totaly in the wrong because I know for a fact that Brookline is a nasty company and their complexes are falling apart, document everything, and when you move be prepared to sue them for your security deposit. By law they have 30 days to give you the $ back or a statement showing charges if they dont they owe you double
